When you say "smashed", I assume you're just completely forgetting the first round of the fight?

The first round where Conor couldn't phase Diaz at all? The first round of the fight Conor lost?
The first round means nothing. Diaz won the fight. There's no prizes for winning a round.

You cant knock it,hes accomplished it all what he set out to do,become a champion (numberous times) and secure his familys future, now its all bonus money to him as I keep saying his legacy to fans wont pay him when hes retired from ages 30 odd to 80,he lives a luxury lifestyle that aint cheap for another 50 years to fund.

As UFC fans it's a disgrace that people are ok with him doing this and not fighting the fights he should be fighting.

If we're comparing it to soccer, it'd be like Lionel Messi going to China at the peak of his powers because they pay the most when he should be playing in the champions league for Barca.

McGregor could have a legacy, defend his title with some brutal knockouts but he'd rather lose and make money than win and make less possibly.

I can't support him when his motives are purely money and then he goes on about doing it for his country.

Im his biggest fan but this crap ''he won 6 out of 8 minutes'' is one of the stupidest things ive ever, delusional point of view and im worried Kavanagh is thinking this way too, yeah he gassed but he didnt only lose because he got tired,Diaz put em away perfectly its quite disingenuous to him not giving him the credit.

Dont support him though im pretty sure he wont cry not having your support, again football and mma are not comparable in anyway shape or form you play football, you dont play mma,I respect his hustle and I'd probably do the same hes doing if I was in the position, wouldnt care what a few fans think of me on an online forum.

Exactly, sure Mendes probably won 9 of the 10 mins of their fight but i dont see people pointing this out.

If Mcgregor jumped off the Cliffs of Moher you would see a stampede of beards and suits heading towards Clare to follow him.

Going down that route you could say Mendes won most of his fight against Conor. And Aldo won the first 10 seconds of his fight with Conor.

You compete in MMA and in football. They are both sports that you need to be in a high state of physical fitness to play, using skills and techniques that take years to perfect.. To say they are incomparable in any was isn't true.

Ah come on the messi analogy was terrible,im not debating mma v football differences, facts are the ufc is a money making franchise sooner people realise this the better they dont care who deserves what they make matches on the financial grounds and ufc 200 is clear proof of it.

Well comparison doesn't work anyway because

    a) Conor to MMA is not what Messi is to football
    b) more and more players ARE pissing off to China/Russia where the big bucks are

A disgrace? Cop on. The fights he should be fighting are the one that he can make money from. Titles mean nothing anymore and its no ones fault but the UFC's for forcing fighters to place money above glory by paying them dirt and cutting their outside earning potential to nearly zero.

Conor is playing the game by the parameters that have been set out for him by a greedy money grabbing promotion that has little regard for any of its fighters. A golfer/boxer/tennis player with the same level of exposure as Conor has would be earning 100 million a year and more. Even some mid and lower level guys in most pro sports are making more money than McGregor.

I think he's dead right to chase the big money because if he sits at home waiting for it to come his way he'll retire with sweet fúck all like 99% of MMA fighters. But hey at least they have their legacies right?

I love this sport but i'd rather see the fighters retire with money in their ass pockets to sustain them for their lives than see them walk away without so much as a kick in the arse from the UFC. It will be very interesting in a few years when we see how many of the first generation of this sports so called superstars end up with nothing left 10 years after retirement while golfers and football players are earning enough so that even their grandkids never have to work.

I hope he keeps chasing the green. Fúck the titles and fúck the begrudgers.

So much wrong with this post
As UFC fans it's a disgrace that people are ok with him doing this and not fighting the fights he should be fighting.

He has the power. He can do what he wants. He has the FW belt so those fights can wait. Edgar & Aldo will always be there waiting for him regardless.
If we're comparing it to soccer, it'd be like Lionel Messi going to China at the peak of his powers because they pay the most when he should be playing in the champions league for Barca.

That's not true at all. He's fighting a guy who beat him and giving up a huge size disadvantage to do so. Your comparison makes no sense.
    McGregor could have a legacy.

This is ABOUT legacy. he needs to avenge this loss. How can he walk around saying he's the best ever if he doesn't? How can he look at Fraknie Edgar or RDA and say the things he wants to say while having that loss hanging over him?
defend his title with some brutal knockouts but he'd rather lose and make money than win and make less possibly

You think he took this fight so he could lose but make more money? That's ridiculous and you know that's not true.
I can't support him when his motives are purely money and then he goes on about doing it for his country.

Have you been supporting him before? Because if you have, i'm not sure how you've missed the money motivation part before!

They might be comparable in certain aspects sure but the two are world's apart.

Put it this way and I don't like football analogys so I won't be making a habit of this Thomas Vermalen was a Champions League winner last year the highest achievement in European club football, his medal was largely earned by Messi Suarez Rakitic and that. If he was in the UFC he would probably be cut by now if he was at Arsenal he'd have finished 4th in the PL :D . A football club has so many games over a season there is so many occasions to put bad results right there is plenty of room for error that's not there in the highest level of mma.

Crystal Palace haven't won a game since around Christmastime in the league but their fans can relish a trip to Wembley in the FA cup that would be like putting Paddy Hoolahan in against Joe B for a #1 contenders match.

Drug testing has rightly improved in MMA in recent years in football it's not even a discussion but that's a different story. :D

So since the main event has been confirmed has anyone made the decision to commit to going?

I'm pretty much mind made up. Just need to confirm with work.

Well, after tennis perhaps. Too much money in football for it to take the next hit.

But both were implicated by Fuentes in the trial following Operacion Puerto.

As good a chance as anyone in the Fight Club Presale. I will be on it the second they go on sale and will take the first ticket I get.

The fight week build up will be the most insane yet.

Conor will be going against not only Diaz but Aldo and Edgar too.

I can only imagine Aldo and Edgar will spend more time trashing Conor than each other.

For the press conferences, they should have Aldo, Edgar and Diaz on one side and Conor on the other. It wouldn't make sense to evenly split the 2 sets of fighters as that would mean on one side you've got Diaz and Edgar and then Conor and Aldo rubbing elbows...it would be nuts/hilarious

Whether rightly or wrongly setup for the MMA purists...UFC 200 is going to be insanse

Nah it won't, at least not while courts themselves are ordering the evidence be destroyed ASAP and never looked into, like what happened in Spain a few years back.

I'm hoping to go but the flight prices are nasty. Maybe I'm being optimistic by thinking they'll come down a bit in price.

Frankie's coach Mark Henry was just on Off The Ball there, only caught the end but he apologised at the end for it getting a bit heated! Should be an interesting listen back!

Don’t forget the likelihood that RDA will be on the card too so he’ll be getting trash from him also.

UFC 200 really will be all about Conor!

It was a good listen, he's a funny guy.

It only got heated when he thought Joe and Wooly were saying he said stuff that he didn't.

Whatever about McGregor, but the idea of Nate Diaz headlining UFC200 is pretty mad when you think about it
