I've said this very recently on another thread, but I thought Frankie won both those Bendo fights!

Anyone who sees Edgar as anything other than one of the best fighters not only now but to have ever stepped into the octagon needs their head examined!

Or, you know, they could actually watch the fights!

That's what I was getting at. The first is perhaps debatable. But it someone is using second fight as a mark against Frankie, then I wouldn't believe they seen the fight. Probably just read his record on wiki.

First fight was 50/50. Impossible to seperate them IMO but I gave Frankie the nod as champ. The rematch was absolute robbery though. AFAIR I scored it 4 rounds to 1 in favour of Edgar.

Helwani seems to really like playing the wild card. Its a dangerous game for him to play because if he gets cut out from Dana and the UFC, that's pretty much it for him. He trades on his ability to get inside stories and to do that, you need to be on the inside. I've been in a similar situation with poker as an accredited reporter and much as people might think "publish and be damned" its not as easy to say that when you can find yourself with your accreditation stripped and standing on the wrong side of a velvet rope.
That said, I admire Helwani's chutzpah, it just might cost him more than he realises.

I don't agree with this. He plays everything very safe because of the conflict of interest he most certainly is not a wildcard. If they didn't want that story out then what would Helwani being on the outside effect him getting those scoops? Managers and fighters always contact him because he is the most recognisable reporter by a mile. He will get the scoops because he provides the most exposure to the hardcore audience. Do you think it is Dana White providing him with this info? Dana already hates the guys guts. This doesn't change a thing regarding his sources.

Agree with dave. Dana isnt giving him.info and id be surprised if ufc took his accreditation.

As helwani pointed out more than once on his show, he doesn't report rumours which to me meant he had info from close in one of the camps. Most likely mcgregors.

An eye swelling!!!!- he had his head almost smashed into the canvas with the ground and pound he had taken! He kept getting concussed and woken up by successive blows!!! Retired on his stool with a entirely swollen head - eye swelling!!!

I saw that as well, I am a big McGregor fan and would be hoping he gets the W in every fight. There is some serious amount of Conor nut huggers around though that just seem obsessed with the guy. Nate was winning that fight on the feet and ground, I would think Conor wasn't 100% whether that was from the extra muscle or the chest infection I'm not sure, but I think he has a good chance at beating Nate in second fight.

I think a lot of the nut huggers migrated to Stockton after Nate Diaz won the Conor McGregor belt.

Its not bizarre. There's a McGregor thread for McGregor discussion but there's a thread here for a fight that hasn't been announced....its unnecessarily doubling up.
