It hard to see more than 2/kg for either of them. The AA must be very fleshy and would be suitable for the slaughter, she is a bit too heavy for a butcher. With the AA scheme she make about 1070 in the factory.

The Angus weighed 560kg brought 1170 and limo weighed 500 and only brought 900 bit disappointed with limo

The AA made about her slaughter value. There is a touch in the Limo for the lad that finishes her especially if she can carry a bit of weight.

If I'm honest limo wasn't a patch on Angus she just didn't thrive the same at all

I say she was a bit taller, thing about beef cross cattle most have HO breeding in them now. Those beef cross can have over 40% ho in them. In an AA it will not show as much as she had hit her finishing weight 550 kgs and will have flesh. The Lm may well not finish until she hits 650-700kgs. The other issue is lots of dairy farmers are using extreme easy calving beef bulls. some of these have very poor daily weight gain.

For the lad that bough her if she kills 330 kgs in late August there may well be a good twist on her. I have bought the LM if she was as I describe there was no money in the AA, she was off for slaughter.

Where a outs are you. The trade is on fire around the North East. You wouldn't buy a goat at 800 round here.

    Was that headford today ?
A lad called here to buy out of the shed and he told me it was a tough trade down there today while he was beating down my poor black stock !
I sold black yearling bulls last week at €2.44 per kilo in maam cross . Was happy with the price but hoped I'd have better weight on them than I had

Twas...unless your selling whiteheads or nice coloured stock you can forget about a good price unless there is a good shot of farmers there!! Good price for them blacks what weight did they average? . I was in early enough pin and watching the tanglers meet up like a group of fn school girls that hadn't met each other in a month (or maybe it was at yesterday's mart!!) would make ya bring up a small bit of vommit.

They only averaged 335kg, my silage mightn't have been good enough I fear

They were getting 2 kg all winter with ad-lib silage, mix of soya hulls and barley with soya bean meal at approx 20% protein altogether. They are out on grass 3wks and that pushed them on also since turnout. Compensatory growth my hole!! I

You are not doing too bad l think. Try squeeze another €20-30 but that's about it. They are definitely worth that to him if right ones. Hopefully you'll have him for next year and no hassle of mart or mart fees.

Sold 2 good dry cows today, 5&6 year olds. 695&700kg at 1180. Not a bit happy with it either. If the weather wasn't so bad and we had a bit of grass coming they would have came home for another few weeks at that money. Bad business.

That doesn't sound enough for those weights...what breed were they?

What I've seen the last week or so is A fair dip in prices. Sheds are full no sign of good weather and people just sick of the rain.
