Chelsea heading out of CL, Costa and Hazard injured, the FA Cup will be all that they will have left, they might have very little to play for come weeks 34 or 37.

I was just having a look at the fixtures, so far the games that have to be rescheduled are...

From League Cup Final Weekend (GW26)....
    Liverpool V Everton
    Newcastle V Man City

From FA Cup QF Weekend (GW30)....
    Liverpool V Chelsea
    Man Utd V Palace
    Sunderland V Everton
    West Ham V Watford
    Arsenal V West Brom

From FA Cup SF Weekend (GW35)....
    West Ham V Man Utd

The working assumption was always that the GW30 games would be doubled onto GW34, and the GW26/GW35 onto GW37.

I was just looking though, is there any reason City/Newcastle couldn't be set for DGW34 (20th April) also? Would give us 12 teams to pick from if we're looking to get 15 DGW'ers for that week.

Sky can choose whether they want to put it DGW34 or 37 (or drop the match but that seems unlikely with both teams fighting for something). No clue what they'll do since Arsenal v WBA, Liverpool v Everton, Liverpool v Chelsea, West Ham v ManU (potentially last match at Upton Park) are all attractive TV fixtures before we even start talking about other potential GW35 blanks

How everyone else seems to be prepared for the double gameweeks

If this plan goes ahead, am I then right in saying Man Uniteds fixtures from GW34 onwards would be: villa at home, palace at home (dgw), blank, Leicester at home, Norwich away, west ham (dgw), Bournemouth at home. Not bad!

Record against those type of teams is horrendous last 2 seasons

Do we have any clue when the rearranged fixtures will actually be announced/confirmed?

It was supposed to be yesterday but it makes much more sense to leave it till after the fa cup games this weekend. There is a bit of complication with everton and chelseas refixed games and they are better off waiting to see which of these teams(if either) can play gw 35 to try and avoid a TGW.

Could a couple of QF replays throw more crap around? Or the fact that Chelsea are out of the CL and the precedent has now been set, mean that there won't be much hassle with them being played?

Not cool. Not cool at all.

I guess the FA/Sky/PL officials are working on their tactic to beat the casuals:D

    Then they will announce...

Benitez in at Newcastle makes their defenders more desirable for the DGW

How are Newcastle getting Rafa is he broke or something? Just seems baffling that he would go there.

His family are settled in Liverpool supposedly.

I'll be bringing Elliot in for a second choice GK ASAP anyways.

I thought I'd entered some kind of parallel universe. Rafa to Newcastle

Janmaat could now be tempting. I will look him up. He has great last season as he was cheap and is good going forward so got the odd assist etc

I guess its closer than Madrid if he has to commute! If it was common knowledge he had a preference for being near to Liverpool Everton would have sacked Martinez long ago!

If SantryRed knows his family are settled in Liverpool then I'd say Everton FC do too :)

Palace through to fa sf. Means palace Everton is cancelled in gw 35. That's 3 refixed games for Everton now. Palace guaranteed two doubles now as well. Another cs for hennessey tonight in the fa cup 3 in a row I think. Any chance of a cs in the league.

With all these refixed games and blanks and DGWs and TGWs I'm just like...

hopefully now Everton beat Chelsea tomorrow, so then we can can add Chelsea to the list of teams with a DGW34 and a game in GW35.

Yeah that's an important combo for us wildcarding in GW33. List is missing a few big teams already. By my reckoning, the following teams have DGW34 and a game in GW35....
    • Liverpool
    • Man City
    • Newcastle

Then the following DGW34 teams might have a game in GW35:
    • Chelsea (if Everton beat Chelsea)
    • Sunderland (if West Brom beat Arsenal)
    • Watford (if Arsenal beat West Brom)

Those (myself included) hoping for 15DGW'ers will only have these teams to choose from if they don't want them to have less than 11 players the following week.

The following DGW34 teams will have blanks in GW35:
    • Everton
    • United
    • West Ham
    • Palace

Looks like the dream of 15DGW players is fading

I dunno. I am planning to have 14 DGW players and Mahrez. Basically I need to organise it so that 8 of the DGW players have a fixture in GW 35 then with Mahrez and 2 FTs I will have 11 starters. So as it stands I'll be looking at 3 x Liverpool, 3 x City and 2 x Newcastle players (maybe Elliot and Wijnaldum). If Chelsea, Sunderland or Watford Join the list of DGW 34 + a GW35 fixture it makes it even easier.

It's important to also keep an eye on GW37. Even if you are a player or two short of a starting 11 on GW 35 the guys without a game will likely have 2 or even 3 fixtures in GW37 so it might be worth it!

That's all very well BUT apart from firmino what other pool players could you possibly want ?
And then there is the Europa league

WBA could have a DGW34 and a game in GW35. They definitely have a game in both, the double could be GW37 though.

As for Liverpool, I'm starting to look at Mignolet. Despite the well earned reputation of being a leaky defence, they have only conceded 2 goals in the last 7 games in all competitions.

Firmino will be Liverpool player no 2. The 3rd will probably be Milner or Coutinho. It will not be Moreno, that's for sure!!

I haven't watched much of Pool lately but is Sturridge featuring at all?

Mignolet, Firmino and Sturridge could be a decent trio.

I'll probably have to get Morono back in :(
But we won't need 3 Liverpool anyway as either Sunderland or Watford are also guaranteed to have a Double 34 followed by a GW35. There is a decent chance Chelsea will join them too which will make things much easier.

So if Chelsea win and are out of GW35 we can look at 3 x City players. 2 x Liverpool (firmino and Moreno?), 2 x Newcastle (elliott+Wijnaldum?) 2 x Sunderland or Watford (Manone/PVA/Defoe?) or 2 x Watford (Gomez + Ighalo?).

If Chelsea lose there is obviously much more choice to be had.

Every one of Firminos goals have came when Sturridge is off the pitch.
