As I was with his other fights I am hoping he gets knocked the f*ck out. People can talk about it all being an act and selling the fight but the guy comes across as an absolute scumbag imo, his little attempt to cheap shot Diaz (who I would dislike for the same reasons) shows him for what he is. I don't think he loses though, looking at some of the comments from the other possible opponents for tonight, Diaz seemed to be hand picked for a handy fight heading into UFC 200 and a big title match.

    Lolololol

He's a dickhead. The popularity of this shows a real crisis in masculinity in general.

    Explain this 'crisis in masculinity'

    Genuinely interested

The amount of hero-worship afforded to a small, heavily-tattooed individual with several obvious disorders including hirsuteness, diction and hitting things, and who in better days would have been escorted off the premises before he attempted to steal something, says more about the audience than it does about him.

He's so little and cute though and has a ridiculously gentle voice. You'd just want to give him a hug and bring him home to his mammy

I really hope Conor McGregor wins. Mainly because I like him but also because I know how miserable he makes people when he does win.

I don't particularly like McGregor's antics, he has gone too far at times, but then Ali did the same, and the revisionists gloss over this. Having said all that i admire his single mindedness and dedication to get here- i'm sure he had lots of people telling him not to be an idiot and stick with the plumbing job - and would like to see him become a two weight UFC champion.

    I agree.
I have huge admiration for his dedication and singlemindedness as you say. Love how he is unapologetic about his ability.
But he really lets himself down with a lot of his comments.
Trash talk is fine. That's irrelevant.

What i don't like is that people can't seem to integrate the whole being- it's this immature pro or anti mcgregor stance that they duly adopt.

    Idealisation or denigration.
    Integrate the whole!

Nice to see good old Irish begrudgery riding high in here.

Quick question to the folks calling him a scumbag etc
Do you have the discipline, the drive, the intention, the stamina and the commitment to do what he does? No, never mind the fighting part of it, getting the head boxed off you on a daily basis in training.
    I mean, the training alone.
Are you in the same physical condition as an athlete, as he is???

    No......
    Time to move along then.

I admire anyone who can sacrifice so much for their goal but I guess haters gonna hate(from behind their laptop, eating a takeaway ;))

I like some of the comments he made about being a guy from Dublin and making it to the top, how he was always told that was for the Americans or for the Brazilians.
It was inspiring cause I've had that attitude and think its part of Irish life, you can't be a world number 1 sure you're not an American or a Japanese, German, British, Russian etc, youre just a Joe from Schmuckstown.

    what a ridiculous viewpoint

Applying your ludicrous viewpoint you'd have to tell us all where you are in life, career wise etc (on the dole or close to it would be my guess), we could than compare that to where we are and than bin your sh1tty opinion :D

You think its ludicrous to dedicate yourself to something so restrictive, so focused and so difficult that only a few reach that level?

    What's ridiculous about that??

You post seems to be a bit hysterical and agressive, perhaps a workout away from the laptop would ease that :)

Here you go. They play this tune and its mixed with big UFC knock-outs, punches and take-downs on the big screens, and the lights. You don't get it on TV it's for the people who are at the event.
