OK, the fight tonight is a big sporting event so we've decided to allow a thread on it after receiving some requests. The same as we do for the Euros, WC, Rugby WC, etc. Please read the mod note below.

    Mod note:

    1) Usual After Hours charter still applies

    2) No allegations against fighters, particularly regarding steroid usage, etc

    3) No illegal streams or requests for streams

    4) No talking about Conor's accent. It's boring and has been done to death

    5) No fighter bashing. Opinions welcome, bashing not

    6) No eye gouging, fish-hooking or small joint manipulation. Groin shots are frowned upon

Thanks to Nicolas Cage for drawing them up.

Info on the fight here. Live on BT Sport 2 in Ireland.

    I hope McGregor loses.

Hope that's not against the rules.

Why not just edit the orignal thread..bit of over modding imo

Anyone in receipt of social welfare (job seekers) for over 12 months who pays to watch this and who hasn't paid their water charges should get their payments cut by 74.5% imo.

Diaz has some long ass arms.

It was very uncouth of the young McGregor chap to throw an unprovoked blow at his opponent outside the ring. Not big, not clever.

Uncouth is one word for that kind of scumbag move

lol at people defending it too. If it was the other way around they'd be rabid over it.

Never had a problem with McGregor before seeing that last night. Wouldn't care less if he gets his teeth knocked in now

For anyone that didn't see it

Who streams this online when it's on BT? Much cheaper with BT than online imho.

Speaking from experience, then people will say that they didn't see the new rules. I'm covering all bases.

Will BT Sport be showing this?

What time should Mc Gregor start the fighting match so ?

Diaz has some long ass arms.

So does McGregor. His wingspan is approximately 13 cm greater than his height.

Diaz' wingspan is 10 cm greater than his height.

Did he say anything racist this time or was he told to cut it out.

It's extremely ugly to see an Irish sports star be so blatantly racist. His comment about white men entering favelas and enslaving South Americans before his last fight was appalling.

He's a dickhead. The popularity of this shows a real crisis in masculinity in general.

    Probably not before 5am

Someone posted an app on Reddit. Alarm will go off just before fight starts

A friend of a friend is really into him.

After his last fight, fellows were talking about him in the pub. Tried explaining racism and misogyny to his fan...gave up. He kept on saying "but it was to sell tickets" as if that was a defence to either.

Out of his league/weight/comfort zone tonight I think.

But good luck to him, maybe the bout this time will last for more than a few seconds.

    Meh.

    crisis? what crisis?
you sound like one of those white knight types that seek to alter masculinity to the point it is gender neutral.

people like a loud mouth pantomime character and masculinity is in crisis....

More fool you for taking trash talk seriously. As for trying to lecture MMA fans in the pub? That's kinda autistic.

2/9 odds on favorite to win

    Diaz is 3/1

He's probably better suited to this weight anyway. He struggled (and looked rough as shit) at a lower weight

Looking much healthier and fit now

At Christy Moore bar inside venue is closed and the locals bar is packed so sitting her without drink sourrended by drinkers. It's a sign for me to stay up for the fight.

Ur not allowed bring drinks after 8pm into the venue. Christy it's 2016 ffs. I do like the model of a non drinking gig

Another who thinks racism is grand as long as it "trash talk".

I disagree. I can't think of any other sports stars who drop it into their lingo. Can you?

And explaining racism to a person is not "lecturing fans in a pub".

Either way, I won't try to explain why autism is inappropriate as a term of abuse.

Conor does not look to be taking this fight as serious. Diaz is oblivious to his slagging (due to lack of understanding) so Conor isn't getting inside his head like he has with previous opponents.

    Interesting one this one...

I've noticed this a lot. People don't seem to understand the concept of 'trash talking', they take everything the fighters say seriously.

It's a bit like saying Suarez wasn't racist because he was just trash talking.

It's no defence to racism. None.
