I haven't watched the video yet. But he's making a huge contradiction. Nate is 170+, can make 155 in week. But if McGregor can going to do the same he is on steroids.

Steroids don't aid in making weight.
McGregor was 170 prior to both 189 and 194. And was at least 165 in the octagon. If somebody tried to say weighing in a 170 means putting in 25 lbs, then they don't know how a weight cut works.

    That's exactly my point.

But tbf, all of it is an excellent way of bothering Conor.

It's slander, but Conor can't complain, can he? 'RDA's foot is bruised, not broken' etc. etc. :pac:

Seen Gunni's dad say on Twitter that Gunni has his next fight lined up and should be announced soon. :)

Wonder when that will be. 200?

I thought McG did an.amazing job of shutting down Nate's comment. Very quick to turn.the situation around by asking Nate did he know his team mates were using.

Conor should sue them right after he kicks his ass. Got both fight purses.

Why is it acceptable for Conor to claim people are juicers but not for someone to throw it at him?

Sure its all just "playing the game" right?

I thought that was excellent too tbh. Nate shut up very quick when he asked that. A sheepish "whatever, steroids" and they moved on

Also, anybody who gets bothered by something Nate says when on the wind up, or Conor for that matter needs their head examined!

    Liable to say absolutely anything

I'm not bothered. Just I've noticed a sizable amount of casual fans on reddit, twitter etc. commenting saying they think Conor is on roids, his quads are unnaturally big, etc.

Didn't notice it before Nate mentioned it. Put it in their heads imo. You would be surprised how easily it is to influence the masses I reckon, when you're in the position.

It was a pretty good one from Nate alright, the only guy I have seen rattle Conor so far with the verbals. Both men enjoy it though tbh and it won't affect McGregor or put him off in any way come fight night.

Nate is deadly serious with that steroid line him and Nick its them 2 against the world they love to mumble crazy stuff 2 loose cannons,

I think the reason Conor took it serious is because your image in America is everything $,the yanks even started suspecting it your in trouble.

He did lose the rag but he shut it down fairly quickly, Nate had no come back when asked if he knew gil etc was taking it, considering how close there team is I'd imagine they knew actually what he was up to.

do they not realise, we're used to seeing a starved version of mcgregor at 145 down in in lilliput featherweight Division.

you cannot win here. you go to 145, some say you;re cheating and too big for that division, then you go up to your walk around weight and they say you're too big to quick for welter (on steroids), stupid really.

people need to realise that's he's probably never tried to beef up as much always being one call away from a 145 shot. in this case his body would respond quickly to the training and calories I think.

now if he got huge at middle, I'd be asking questions but really I think aside from that he should be weary of being counter punched, despite everyone thinking he'll blitz Diaz!.

I think Nate Diaz (don't like em though) will surprise many folks. I've gone for a 3rd round win to conor based on nates chin, mcgregor getting around nates long arms and by the 3rd, Nate running out of gas altogether and being stopped but not cleaned out altogether.

I really don't see how Conor was apparently rattled tbh. Sure, he reacted to it, he told him to STFU, but that's a completely normal imo. Conor has been vocally against steroids in the past himself.
If he retreated into his shell it would have looked odd. In fact, no matter what the reaction I imagine there would be "something" to read into it.

Will Conor be walking in via the "Champion Walk" or "Fighter Walk", does anyone know?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 550 ✭✭✭Pulse8

Champion walk, came across the media details online & it says he walks second

Walking 2nd doesn't guarantee champions walk. Usually both fighters come out the same walk, except for title fights.

It could be either, but I'd imagine they play up the fact he's a belt holder.

The problem is that Nate believes what he is saying.

Going by the body language of Nate. I dont think he cares if he wins or loses.

All about cashing in on the fight.

Yeah but if he beats Conor he'll significantly improve his bargaining position for a new contract.

The Conor fight is just a once off pay check otherwise.

he always looks like that. he's a "i don't give a f*ck" kind of guy

Nate clearly has got under his skin with the steroid accusations.

I think it's good that for once we will see an angry conor give someone a good beating for once!

Up until now he wasn't really hating any of his opponents under it all, it was just pretend, but now he might actually be angry by these accusations.

    Let him loose!

I doubt he'll be angry, he said he has massive respect for both Diaz's. If anything he was more tame in the microphone than any other fight. As said above through nate doesn't care if he wins or loses I see him getting a 5 round as whooping since he's durable but not because Conor would be angry at him!

Nate Diaz is a born fighter.Once he steps in that cage he will give every last ounce of sweat and blood in his being to win.

Just like McGregor and all these guys at this level of fighting.

If he weren't fighting in the octagon then he be whooping guys up at home in Stockton or wherever its in his DNA.

He's a bad mo'fo, the money is just the bonus, the incentive to put in hours of technical mma training to compete at this level.

Only given two weeks notice to fight, McGregor will have too much for Diaz imo.Should be a great fight though looking forward to it.:)

Conor won't fight angry. And I don't think he got under his skin either.

Re. giving someone a good beating for once, Dennis Siver springs to mind.

As ASOT said above Conor has big respect for the Diaz brothers. And he definitely took it easy on Nate in that press conference.

I have heard nate's manager now come out with the steroid accusations.

Surely it is getting under his skin especially judging by his reaction in tho press conference.

He may have liked them but that could easily change when someone starts throwing accusations around like that.
