Hi....will this work with note 4?
    Thanks

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,389 ✭✭✭✭Saruman

No, the note 4 needs the older innovator edition. My brother got the proper release for his S6 edge and it's pretty cool.
    I have a note 4 myself.

This is available online at Vodafone.ie for €49 including delivery. Absolute bargain I think. Is €99 in Vodafone shop

I want to buy them buto probably shouldn't.

Can't see when I'd actually use them.

Can you play downloaded films on them? If so flying is about the only place I can think of when I would use them.

Bought a Note 4 last week, but only compatible with Note5 :( shame

There's something strange here, the vr 2 is also up for 199. The version for 49 quid appears to be the older version for the note 4. The photo shows no square vents on the left which the newer model has.

On the Vodafone site, what's listed as "Gear VR" for eur49 is indeed the Gear VR. Quoted specs include phone compatibility with S6, S6 edge, S7, Note 5.

What's listed as "Gear VR2" for eur199 is the "Gear VR Innovator edition"...

Better quality picture the main one I'd imagine.

Also, have to hold Google Cardboard while using it is annoying.

Quality of picture surely has nothing to do with it? You put your phone so it's whatever your phone quality is surely? Unless I am way off :)

I bought it from Amazon a couple of weeks ago for £85 and I clicked on returning it within 3 hours. Ive not actually bothered to return it yet, but I will next week and get my money back.

Its fairly rubbish. The pixels are really easy to see and the Samsung S6 overheats within 30 minutes despite closing all apps and setting phone to "Do Not Disturb". The poor performance and the fact I have to take the phone out of my Otterbox Defender case everytime I want to use it makes it a pointless exercise.

I will be buying the HTC Vive, so Im into VR and gaming etc, but this is just crap.

Ordered it now. Probably something on the bank side was having issues as this was the first time i got to "Verified by Visa" window.

    two on the Vodafone site:

    http://shop.vodafone.ie/shop/accessories/samsung-vr-2-headset-black €199

    http://shop.vodafone.ie/shop/accessories/samsung-gear-vr-white
    €49

probably a stupid question:what's the difference?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5 donegalnets

The €199 is actually the old innovater edition. The €49 consumer edition is actually the new edition. There is no gear vr 2 so I think someone in vodafone is clueless.

Pretty sure this is a mistake on Vodafones part, nowhere else is selling them as cheap, even in the usa ...unless you order a galaxy s 7. Vodafone are not a company who give bargains away!

Mines been posted so happy days!!

Bought this morning on the Vodafone site but the confirmation page didn't load up and I haven't gotten an email either.

The money has gone from my bank a/c though.

So is this literally just a nice fancy plastic holder for your phone? No different to cardboard in practice?

Has some sensors built in to increase the responsiveness of movement etc.
