Happy days, sounds promising. I see the Edge is showing nearly full charge in 100 mins which will be great.

    Yep will be brilliant.

The bigger 3600mah battery in the Edge should result in excellent battery life all going well.

It's part of the hardware in the phone but you still need the quick charge transformer brick to get it to work don't you? Did it have that in the box?

The plug/adaptor that comes in the box is quick charge.

The bigger screen size of the edge means both should have near identical battery life

The screen sizes difference will maybe make a 1/2 percent difference in battery if at all. Their the same resolution after all. So pushing the same amount of pixels, meaning gpu is doing same amount of work

The 3,600mAh battery is much bigger. Battery on edge will be greatly improved over normal s7.

    Haha that's true :D

Got a spigen slim armor and ultra thin armor on Amazon last week for 1:50 each.

Arrived today and they are perfect! Exactly the same as my ones for s6

€1.50? Make sure they aren't fakes.

    RED €55 per month
Wow, that is a dreadful offer.

Oops, my expectation that the S6 edge upgrade price goes down to 49 EUR (or even 0) with the S7 release has been defeated by this...
VF thinks the other way round: The S6 sells at 149, so we can bring in the newer model for 329.
At least now I have no dilemma waiting to see what the HTC M10 will be.

Damn. Great prices. Ordered mine on Spigen's site for the Edge for £9.99. Still happy enough with that price :)

you be sick if it didnt fit.

I only ever had battery cases and only used them when in work other than that i just have it uncovered and in my pocket on its own. never really had damage done to them .

How will the cases work for the Edge?

Will the phone be more exposed?

I really want that silver titanium s7 edge but it doesn't seem available in Europe yet. Think I'll hang on till it is to be honest sim free on expansys is a whopping €850

Is there going to be a 64gb S7 Edge available at launch or just 32gb ?

Also, it seems the S7 isn't going to support Android M's adoptive storage.

I spent a little time with the S7 and Edge yesterday.

Very nice looking phones, more so the edge, but that was obvious. Fingerprints were all over the back of it, but that doesn't bother me, as a cover is essential for any phone.

I wasn't able to do much with them as they were somewhat locked down in retail mode and had unfinished firmware I believe. I did manage to get a look at some things.

The camera is truly fantastic, even from the few seconds I had with it. The focus was so smooth. Very impressed.

I checked the storage to see what was being used. Keep in mind, they had it loaded up with a good few images/videos for demos. Which I doubt is there with the stock phone.

Anyone buying these phones and interested in the VR headset (and you either missed or can't get the pre-order bonus for any reason) you can buy the VR headset on vodafone.ie for €50 which is half price.

I may have just impulse bought it.

Damn. I might get one for my S6 Edge+.

Edit: Purchased. Thanks for the heads-up.

Just spotted this on Android Central for anyone still looking SIM free. Comes with free speaker and case and mentions international delivery.

Did you get your order placed on Samsung UK?

''Don't panic! This doesn't concern the SIM-free and carrier unlocked models.''

Mine is coming sim free direct from Samsung. Doesn't effect me at all.

I did. Through the AnPost thing. I don't mind too much, as it should only be a few days later that it arrives.
Looks to be a good option though on that site.

    Excellent. :)

That is actually good news. This means that because there's an auto carrier lock, some of the carriers might not even bother modifying system partition to put some of their carrier stuff on the device.

I've never had trouble getting SIM unlocked, and most carriers do it for you if you ask nicely with a legitimate reason (such as travel).

    Indeed.

But I think this may be even better. If the phone auto locks to the first network. That means you can buy the device from any network and use it as you would on your own sim.

However. The reason this doesn't make sense is that if I stick a sim card in that isn't from the carrier I got the phone from, that means it gets locked to that network instead.

Won't that force the carrier to unlock it for you, as you won't be able to use the phone with them otherwise.

Could be an easy way of getting the unlock code, if you say oops I put my old sim card in first to get the numbers off it first. Hmmm

Possible they might just stick one of their Sims in sometime before sale.
