Is it worth playing that first or should i just skip it and play Gunslinger?

Gunslinger is pretty much it's own self contained story, you don't need to play the first, which to be honest is pretty god damn dated by now. I mainly played the multiplayer with friends in a gaming cafe years ago, and it was dated even then.

I absolutely loved Call of Juarez when it was released. Story was great, and playing at bible toting Dukat was brilliant :)

I really enjoyed Call of Juarez and bound in blood. Never played the Cartel but might pick it up just for the sake of it.

When I played the first on the xbox 360 back in 2006, I thought the graphics were amazing.

The chat about Hard West in the bargains thread inspired me to fire it up again, started a new campaign, which is the last in the main story. There's 3 or 4 other campaigns then. It is such a good game :D

Been playing Divinity Original Sin. Loving the turn based combat in it though the story and dialogue is a bit of a leftdown.

Finished Chapter 1 in Phantom Pain. When the credits rolled i thought i was finished but nope up pops chapter 2. Dont feel that keenon playing it though since i've heard pretty unfinished. Might take a break from it and play something else for a while.

The OH got onto the Legion Alpha for World of Warcraft and I've been playing it quite a bit. Lots of fun in terms of questing and a few decent overhauls. Still cautious it'll go like WoD.

Also been playing a bit of Classic, though I'm not sure if we're allowed to speak of such things here. But I'll say this, it's a lot bloody harder than a lot of people remember and ridiculously grindy.

I've been playing xcom2 on veteran iron man and I am bad at this game. I get about 5 missions in before getting a whole squad wiped out leaving me with nothing but rookies. It's impossible to come back from there. I think I'm on my fourth run already. I've been avoiding the main thread as I'm still at the start of the game.

I'm considering dropping iron man if it happens again as life is too short.

I wish the game wasn't so heavily reliant on variance. I'd prefer if your soldiers fired 5 shots of 1/5 of the damage so it wasn't so "all or nothing". I don't really get it as a design choice to be honest. I felt the same way about the original. The game would probably be less infuriating/exciting.

Beyond grindy. Nothing like it has been for the last number of years. It took weeks to get 60 back then and that was when you knew what you were doing :pac:

I've managed to survive a bit longer and upgrade my squad to 5 soldiers. I think the key at this point is to constantly recruit while having one or two cannon fodders to be my eyes and ears.

I came across a weird bug where I couldn't complete any scans. The numbers would go into the negative. I flew around to many sites and they all dropped past 0 to negative numbers. I restarted then suddenly they all completed at once. I may have messed my game up though. Aliens gains two boxes of Avatar during this time.

Running through Half Life 2 at the moment, my first foray in to the series. Its.....weird.

I can see the appeal and know it was the launching board for most FPS these days but the lack of cut scenes or direction is a bit startling, not in a bad way. Dare i say i'm finding it a tad boring but darned if i wont finish it!

Spent another hour or so on HL2, the gravity gun :o

Its actually quite a fun game, once i got by the water parts at the start. Few jump scares and the aliens look very familiar, wonder which Alien movie i saw them Aliens in, Exoskeletons, long head that bites, face huggers. Cant for the life of me think what Alien movie it is.

    company of heroes 2, finally

the main campaign was pretty underwhelming but ardennes assault is bloody fantastic

i hope Coh3 is just a giant interactive risk game like ardennes assault, I'm loving it.

never played it so couldn't tell you

you have 3 battle groups which you can move around the map, when you attack an enemy position it starts a classic RTS mission but they're sort of randomised so no two playthroughs will be the same.

oh, and if you lose a map you lose that battle group so you can be bouncing between only two groups for the rest of the missions which gives neither of them the time they need to heal up

i just failed the last mission, i was able to build units for about 5 minutes before i ran out of strength

So I just picked up 12 Is Better Than 6, which is currently just €2.49 a whopping 75% off despite it only being a few months old. The game is basically a wild west Hotline Miami clone, but as a sucker for anything western themed and a fan of HM, it's been on my radar for a while. Just gave it a quick blast, and it's pretty fun, does exactly what it says on the tin; a wild west Hotline Miami. But the soundtrack is seriously good.

Playing Thief at the minute quite good but I do not play for long sessions.
The stealth aspect of the game if very good better than Hitman absolution(well I think anyway, still haven't gotten around to finish that game either)

Been playing a lot of this, mostly online though the community is full of right *****.

Might get ardennes assault, haven't played the single player in a long while. It's been on sale down to €7 once a month so while I missed the one last week I may buy it.

Not sure if any of the mission pack would be worth it.

Ardennes Assault is worth it - really. The campaign map plays like the old Dune 2000 one

    Dune%202000_4.png

You capture and lose Territory as you progress - leave a zone for too long and enemy forces build up to the point where they're incredibly hard to kill and it affects the actual difficulty.

In the meantime, you take attrition damage from your own combat losses but at the same time gain 'Company experience' Which gives you access to a "skill tree" of useful things, like Tank Destroyers or really well equipped Para's or heavy infantry etc..

Slightly rpg in that sense, but it's a cracking way to play that campaign.

Played it through about 6 or 7 times since i bought it - great fun! Worth every cent!

Ive started playing wow again. Got bored once I sorted my 5 garrisons. MoP had loads of stuff to do once you hit 90. Legion looks promising but after WoD I'm waiting awhile before buying Legion.

    Instead went back to GW2.

Same. Where are you now? I've been playing the DLC after uninstalling CSGO :pac:

I only get an hour or so of gaming a day so I'd like to use that hour more "productively"

Picked up Shadow of Mordor before Christmas and finally getting around to playing it. Really enjoying it so far. Was worried the combat could have the same issue as Assassin's Creed and end up with you just countering all the time but it has a few nice little things to freshen things up. Highly recommend it for people who like games like AC, especially when you can get it so cheap now!

Been hooked on Mount and Blade Warband for the last week. Really enjoyable leading your warband into battle. Also the Napoleonic Wars DLC for multiplayer is fun too.

Started Mad Max today, after seeing the movie in IMAX last night (again). Really enjoying it so far.

Been really enjoying The Red Solstice again this weekend, they had just released some DLC for it, so good time to dive back in. Honestly, I'm really enjoying playing it again, because I think the devs have been tweaking things a bit for the better, and I'm really going all in for the multiplayer this time around. It's great, should really get a few more friends playing it.

Rocket League is still my main stay, but I've started The Witcher 3 this week. I'm only at the tutorial stage, but it's running well on my machine, and looks well too! I also played a bit of SpeedRunners. I've had it for ages, and a friend was playing it, and asked me to have a go with him. It's pretty fun, though a bit basic, but it's has the replay value that Rocket League has, if not the longevity.
