Forte hitting FA. Wonder where he will end up. Top 3 in cap space right now are Raiders, Jags, and Giants.

Himself, Doug Martin, and Lamar Miller will be highly sought after, you'd think, even if Forte has mileage.

Forte would be perfect for the Patriots but to be honest he would be perfect for anyone of the top teams.

I imagine money is not going to be a driving force for where he goes and I think he will end up at a top team that gives him a shot at a ring.

Patriots probably top that list for me and he would be a supreme signing for them.

I don't cheer for the Pats often, but if he was there I'd have a good reason. I just hope he doesn't go to the NFC North. But I don't see that as being especially likely.

Love to see him at the Patriots, but I think he'd be a good fit with the Jags, plus he'd get paid! A good running back would really improve that team!

Supposedly he wants a shot at the Super Bowl though. So I think he'll be going somewhere colder...

I'd cry if Forte ended up with Cowboys, which I think is a good fit.

Kicker with Forte is that he pass protects.

I would say he could get 6 mill a year but if he cut that to 4 the New England fit seems to good to be true.

How about the Packers? If Starks wants to look for a starting job Forte seems like a perfect fit to me. I suppose it would depend on him taking a bit of a pay cut in pursuit of a ring

That's my big fear. Lacy for all his faults has proven to be a nightmare match up for Chicago. Forte, obviously, is a very different running back and the thought of him facing us twice, with the packers, next year, and the damage their ground game could cause, as well as the extra dimension he brings to an already complete pain in the ass passing game, along with his motivation against us, along with the pain of seeing him line up against the bears at all, let alone with that team. Nightmare. Come on Belichick, get it done!

Much as I'd love to see him in GB, we won't be seeing him in GB.

We're traditionally so mean paying RB's that even paying him $4 million would be a stretch. We let Vereen go last year just to save $1/2 million, the guy who caught all 11 passes thrown his way in Superbowl 49. His replacement White, caught 5 of 16 passes thrown his way in the AFC title game :(. I'd love to add Forte to the roster and if he's willing to sacrifice money to be a serious contender, then hopefully they'll meet somewhere in the middle. Of course it all means nothing if we don't sort out the diabolical O line.

This season can't get here quick enough. I found myself watching South Africa v New Zealand in a WBC qualifier this morning.

Very interested to see how the media handles this.

Brady vilified for having air taken out of a football (allegedly).
Cam vilified for being upset in an interview after losing the biggest game of his career.

Wouldn't be shocked if the darling of the media Peyton gets away with it again just like he did with the HGH story. Surely he can't though.

They might want it to go away because they're all doing to get him on board as an analyst, but I can't see how it would go away. It's absolutely damning stuff (although the article spends a long time debunking the question of her using vulgar language, which I can't imagine people really care about, and not enough time detailing the derailing of her career and the much worse lies that achieved it). Tennessee come out of out looking absolutely despicable as well. Not sure how manning was able to get away with breaching the earlier settlement, or why he felt the need to do it, but I've a feeling that'll all be subject to discussion soon. Along with the HGH thing, it's all looking very bad for him..

Or it'll be swept under the rug and we'll be hearing his irritating nationwide ads for the rest of eternity.

Whew. Back to deflategate. Thread was going a bit off topic there, referring to other players and incidents.

So you take one line out of what he posted and 'you' focus on Deflategate and not the actual article. You are the one with the issue when you can't even focus on the topic posted.

The article is not good reading. But I doubt it'll hit mainstream for too long, and there'll be a rush from the tv companies to sign him up; just look at Ray Lewis.

This is old news on Manning, not sure why people expect it to be pushed into the media fore front.

Think it's the mainstreams media refusal to discuss anything bad about Manning that grates.

You laugh about it, but just wait and watch the NFL drag that **** back to court.

Daily News story is a one sided depiction of the events that happened back then. The document this writer keeps referring to was wrote by Naughtight's lawyer for the case against Manning. She never sued him for the alleged act back then which makes this story even more questionable. She sued for defamation after his book but wouldnt sue when he had supposedly carried out the act? Not adding up for me.

They must have changed their mind as it's on their homepage now and the Outside the Lines show did a feature on it too. Or that Denis and Callahan show is talking crap.

She reported it to a Sexual Assault Crisis Centre 'within hours'.

If he did what's alleged it would be a criminal act, so why would she be suing him?

One comment I read elsewhere that got me thinking was that the alleged behaviour of the Mannings here is very similar to what they have done in the HGH case regarding Putting pressure on witnesses. I'm not saying it's true but if it is, it's right out of the Lance Armstrong playbook, not something I'd recommend using!

I have no 'dog' in the Brady v Manning thing, but the difference in treatment of Bradys 'alleged indiscretion' and Mannings ' alleged indiscretions' is very striking looking from the outside in.

I thought my post pretty clear.

I wasn't laughing about the incident, I was laughing at how every single incident sees someone playing the victim card about the Pats caught cheating yet again...though usually in the context of Brady who of course, unlike his employers, was himself exonerated. Every. Single. Incident.

If Manning did what is claimed, that is appalling. It doesn't mean the Pats cheating is fine or was treated too harshly. There is an obvious and huge difference between an organisation cheating to win games, and an individual with very serious sexual assault and racism accusations made against him. Obviously any sports organisation has much greater power to intervene in the former.

I think you were just fishing for "thanks" to be honest. Either way you're now the one making this into a deflategate thing. Can we please not.

Peyton gets preferential treatment compared to every other player in the NFL. Its pretty clear he's not innocent in this instance. Up to the media whether they make a big deal of this or not but I do think at some point, he will have to answer for his actions and own up to them. I hope so anyway.

I was responding to the first response...which raised deflategate. I completely agree that it is very very tiresome to see it raised every time there is a wrong.

I'd rather if not every story was met with the "but Brady got punished for less". That was precisely my point. There are far better comparisons anyway, NFL stars who got caught for wrongs outside the game and got treated more or less favourably.
