I had a look on that guy's website and while it's all very misogynistic I don't see anything about 'pro-rape'? Link anyone? I'm still not sure I believe that these people exist.

The Irish meeting with be Naas – In front of main entrance of Naas Courthouse.

    http://www.returnofkings.com/78021/full-city-listing-and-meeting-points-for-international-meetup-day

Am I the only person who thinks this meeting should be run out of town?

    .

Some articles from that site have been posted here from time to time, though I can't recall if I've read any by "Roosh" - angry, sexually frustrated, socially inept and bitter, with a distinct air of schoolyard "ye know how many I shifted on the weekend?" bull. It's hard to imagine that adult men wrote them, tbh, thus one would wonder how many are actually old enough to travel.

It doesn't matter if he gets banned, his name is everywhere now - you can't buy that kind of publicity. He is a well-known troll, but don't let that stop the pitchfork brigade to get up in arms over a poorly researched story that gets shoved in their faces.

I also had a good laugh at all the politicians condemning him on twitter/Facebook etc. to make themselves look high and mighty. They can f*** off.

Unfortunately there's more votes to be gained by pandering to gullible idiots than telling them to get a life.

Unfortunately that's a lot of it. I saw it a few years back when that Return of Kings crowd click baited up an article along the lines of you should only date women with eating disorders. Well the Twitterati exploded, as did Facebook and blogs etc. Completely understandably, but they fed right into advertising their site better than google on a good day. I saw it here on Boards at the time. People linking back to the article all over the place. One woman in the Ladies Lounge did something different, in that she wrote a measured email to their hosting company(as well as Amazon IIRC about his books) explaining how much of a troll these guys were and could they look into it. Fair bloody play. That's how you directly do something about it(or ignoring them entirely). A Facebook circle jerk of increasing angst isn't.

On their front page they were boasting of their huge clicks and hits stats when the article broke. Right there in black and white. TBH I had to hand it to them for that. It worked and it keeps on working. QV this meeting in Naas, or all the other ones they're mooting happening elsewhere. The power of outrage on the interwebs.

Someone has got to inform them of that. That's too good. THough a sense of humour bypass might be in action, unless you can prove that you "lift" and are "no homo". :D

Odd to think that somewhere like Boards I'm seen by some as a reactionary and right wing, yet on their forum I'd be a pinko commie libtard. Funny old world. :D

Mod- No matter how abhorrent you may find the subject or the organiser, advocating violence against anyone is not on. Please try to keep it civil. Thank you.

He's not advocating violence. And there appears to be a strong element of agitprop here to provoke a discussion.

I'm further to the left than probably anyone you will find on boards (which might be more to do with right-wing activist moderators than anything else). College campus feminists shriek about "rape culture", because they have nothing else to present as a badge of oppression. They do not want to discuss the exploitation of working class women, because they're from the class that does the oppressing; they are not the oppressed, they are the oppressors. They're not even that vulnerable to being raped, as rapists tend to pick low status women as targets. Raping a Trinity girl is going to bring the establishment down on you like a ton of bricks. You might get away with one of the cleaners. And of course if you are of a much higher socio-economic status than the girl, the administration will do their best to make sure your youthful hijinxes doesn't blight your entire life.

These women are krypto-traditionalists. They're opposed to sex outside mortgage. They can appear as sexual liberals, by promoting the acceptance of homosexuality.....but don't .....whatever you do...don't even look at a woman if you are heterosexual man .........they're especially afraid of heterosexual working class men.....(or knackers, as they call them).....It might be, because they think that when the revolution comes, their men are going to get cucked, out of revenge. I guarantee you, any revolution I'm a part of, I will try my best to keep the cucking to an absolute minimum.

Just to re-iterate that point. When the revolution comes, lads; no cucking....we have to show them we're better than that.

Words or notions I do not understand in this comment.....
    agitprop

    right-wing activist moderators

    rape culture

    krypto-traditionalists

    mortgage

    get cucked

    no cucking
.....this many. If there was a way of saying this in English, without sidelining those of us who don't subscribe to these notions, please re-phrase as I have NO idea what you're talking about. And this is not a krypto-agit-bollix comment for the love of a good argument....I genuinely can't follow what your point is.

:pac::pac: Wut? Oh man, that word is up there with "no homo" and such like. Seriously man, can't you see that you're just picking up this kinda stuff wholesale from places online like we're discussing here? You're being influenced by a culture of US based Reddit turf wars by extremist eejits. That's not good man, it really isn't.

He appears to be saying (contrary to usual opinion) that the mods here are all right wing feckers.

Then on the rest of it, he's basically saying that all women who study in Trinity are anti-men, use sex as a transaction for benefit, and discriminate against men on class, and actively participate in oppressing women they percieve to be beneath them

Clearly ignoring recent stats from Trinity that 25% of female students report being subjected to sexual assault.

Wtf does "cuck" mean in that context? I'm assuming it's shorthand for cuckold which I think means a man who's wife cheats on them. Is that right so far?* But why would middle class feminist women be worried that their husbands would get "cucked" in a revolution? Like as in the women are worried they'll ride a "knacker" when the revolution comes? I don't get that post at all.

*I've learned that from porn. American porn. I have never ever ever heard anyone say any variation of "did you see John's missus did the dirt on him? Yep. Poor chaps a cuck now." Alpha beta gamma data, I'm with Wibbs. My grandfather didn't pretend to be at the GPO in 1916 for me to carry on like an American.

Cuck is a word I only ever seen being used on certain websites until recently.

Now it has become the new cultural Marxism. Often said but I doubt the people saying it even know what they're talking about.

    http://trinitynews.ie/one-in-four-female-tcd-students-sexually-assaulted-survey/

From the Trinity site itself. What is flawed about the stat? That it's only students who responded? To me, given that such issues tend to be underreported I'd be concerned that the actual figure is higher?

"Cuck" in the US alt right universe seems to mean someone who allows themselves to be taken advantage of or made a fool of by others, particularly their female partner but it can also have a wider meaning. It essentially seems to be a slur based on someone's perceived lack of virility, weakness & over willingness to compromise their beliefs & dignity. I've seen it used by the Tea Party crowd a good bit in relation to politicians who dared to back down (however slightly) on their fanatical anti-government stance once actually elected to Congress.

Despite having different politics to that crowd I have to say I kind of like it as a way to sum up spinelessness in politicians who promise the earth but then allow themselves to be shafted by others. One could say for instance that Obama was "cucked" over the issue of closing Guantanamo, something many believe he could have pushed far harder on. Here one could say that Labour were cucked right royally on the issue of water charges, which they campaigned vigorously against, only to meekly accept them (for the most part) once they were in government.

    Why? Seriously?
Wtf? Where did I even slightly imply the bolded bit?

I was actually referring to arayess's downplaying of ROK, probably should have quoted them.

I would agree people should not expend energy on this (although some of those advocating same are also posting a lot to this thread) but I do agree with osarusan that the idea of people buying into it/being manipulated by it is not a comfortable one. You even alluded to that yourself Wibbs when you said, in relation to his followers: "There are some clearly bright, well read and well traveled posters there... they're not the eejits some would like them to be, or feel safer thinking they are".

As quoted by osarusan also, this guy does want decriminalisation of rape, if behind closed doors - so that women will not be able to cry rape so easily. So, to be fair, that is not quite saying "Men should be able to rape" (still repugnant though).
I get why there is something like this movement - men being sick of being viewed so badly etc, and I would agree with them with regard to a lot of contexts. The problem though is irrational people are taking this to twisted extremes, delivering these ideas via a charismatic mouthpiece, and the vulnerable are buying into it.

I would agree such a movement would have no time for fellow men who are homosexual (despite twice the men in those relationships!) - or immigration of muslims (the way they treat women like :pac:).
