He really was. Gutted to wake up to the news and didn't realise he was so ill.

He was one of the greatest ever and his music still sounds superb.
A chap who worked on his last 3 albums with hims was interviewed on Tubridy this morning. He knew nothing of the illness. Never really got into his stuff, but certainly recognize the massive contribution he's made to music over the last 50+ years. RIP.

Bad bad day. Myself and the wife were in our teenage years in the early 70's. Bowie was our musical and cultural background.
First dance. First kiss. First clumsy fondle. All to the music of Bowie.

LP's out tonight. Wine to be drank. Memory's to cherish.
    Cancel tomorrow.

Can't say I'm old enough for him to hold memories like that for me. My older brother gave me some of his stuff for Christmas when I was about 17 and that was it.

I went to see him on the A Reality tour in 2003. First time seeing him and last show he ever played in Dublin. He opened with Rebel Rebel, the first of 35 songs. He recorded his tour DVD that night and you could only sit back and marvel at his back catalogue and try to soak up that you were in the presence of greatness.

Very few artists of the last 50 years, to my mind, can sit in the same bracket as him in terms of the influence and impact they had on music. There's a very small group of them still alive and now there's one less. He came, met us and blew our minds.

Massive fan. I think I owe being an absolute weirdo to David Bowie. For me he represented the ability of expressing your mind and weirdness and that being absolutely ok and acceptable. A true representation of imagination and the humble mind. Most of my first CDs were Bowie, I will sorely miss him and that's something I would rarely say about anyone I've never met.

Somewhere, up in heaven, Bowie is rested on a silver cloud reading all the obituaries of his passing when he comes across your post. He pauses a moment, then mutters to himself..

Yeah it's all a documentary, but as you go on there is more video that is shot for the show rather than using archive footage. The 1st episode is def the poorest of the 10, as it has to set up the story

Think that tag line is probably inspired by this if it's not made by the same people

    Is that the Dillon Panthers?

I fancy the Chiefs to nick it. Pats are on a serious slide and Cheifs just play very low error football.

Steelers are too screwed with injuries - Brown is definitely out and Roethlisberger's shoulder is ****ed even if he does play.

Cardinals are just a better football team than the Packers.

In essence you're just completely wrong.

    What's your Seahawks/Panthers pick?

No idea. Probably slightly favour the Panthers but I really, really don't know. Thankfully it's the early game tomorrow so I'll be able to watch it all.

    Packers/Cardinals. The hail Mary. Insanity.

Incredible finish to the game. Aaron Rodgers is some man for the miracle throws.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

His luck eventually ran out. Insane hail mary passes got them out of jail but I'd have been disgusted if Palmer lost out due to those. He has been phenomenal and outplayed Rodgers on the night. The play to Fitzgerald was the defining one which was superb.

Awful coverage by the Packers. How do you let the no. 1 target be that open?

I don't think either QB had a great night overall. On the Fitzgerald play Palmer was close to getting sacked. What a game though...so many huge moments.
