You're not giving yourself much of a break before lunging into the big bad world!

Oh your not the first person to say that to me :) in an ideal world I would have liked about 6 weeks off and most in my class aren't starting till late August /September but that would be too long off for me id of just ended up taking up an old summer job to fill the gap :pac: My employer wanted me to start asap so we both agreed on 2nd week of June as a compromise.

Took a picture of it just for you! :p

Gave it a clean after I took the pic but it was dark by the time I had finished. For a car thats now 10 years old the bodywork is quite good on it! The biggest issue is the alloys - they all have minor kerb marks on them (then again, I got them cheap and were the only set I came across on Donedeal / Adverts).

    Well wear.. :)

Anybody else get the Sunday Indo today. There's a vw brochure in it, and they go through a kind of persona if want of a better word for the golf. They feature some slammed golfs, debadged stuff, non oem wheels.

All of which is in an official vw booklet! Surprised that they'd feature that kind of stuff.

They'll scare recently graduated female vets off them altogether!

No scanner unfortunately, nor do I have a focusing camera. There's 3 or 4 pics, I'll add them in seperate posts as I'm on the phone

    Sorry, they're terrible quality.

It's amazing how this emissions scandal doesn't really seem to be affecting VW's sales in Ireland anyway. I know it won't be confirmed until next month when we see January's sales figures but there is certainly a lot of 161 VW going around. I know the hardcore VW fans were never going stop buying them over the scandal but I thought a lot of the less loyal (as in don't look at VW's as being superior they only bought them as they suited their needs) customers would moved to Hyundai, Renault, Toyota, Kia, ford etc.

Ah Worthersee, they have a massive following there. I think they built that W12 golf for that show??
Anyway sure I guess they see the big VAG following here too and are trying to latch on or look cool or something?

I dunno what the idea about it is, the page before it is about financing an up! Whereas the page after is ray darcy on about the practicality of a golf for a family :pac:

    Page filler I'd say!

I know Monday night is music night but I just can't resist. Just love this song so much at the moment. What are all of you listening to while driving these days?

Same song with lyrics. This is my second favourite song at the moment:p.

Cheers for uploading Noccy_Mondy, can't read the text but get the idea. Recognise that black carbon mk7 golf. Its carbon fibre over the metal and paint, not a wrap. The detail is mental.

Ray might be a bit biased though, given that VW are sponsoring his show :)

    On that actually. . .

E36 to polo was -50 euro on policy. .

    Polo to astra was +86!

So basically a 2.5 BMW is cheaper to insure than a 1.4 Opel?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,480 ✭✭✭YbFocus

The math would suggest that :)

    Take it and run.

I know my car is almost on the borderline of fun, which must mean it's a deathtrap, but last July getting quotes, some of them were higer than what I paid when I was 17, 10 years ago!

Fairly tempted in going to look at this MK7 GTI:

    https://www.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/volkswagen-golf-gti-2-0tsi-panoramic-roof-220hp-h/10273974

Only thing worrying me is it appears to be for sale a long time - since the end of August. The youtube videos upload date also matches up to the date on the mileage pic
