I was planning to go out for a run now. Boll0x to that I say.

I have to go, can't leave the rest of the lads down!
I also gave away 3 pairs of tracksuit ends (the football kind) before Xmas cos I NEVER wear them to football, always shorts. Wish I'd kept one of them now for tonight :(

This is stupidly trivial but I missed a call about a job. Well I let it ring out, my brain was too foggy. First of all I'm not ringing back an 1890 number. Secondly the job is my idea of a nightmare, applied out of desperation. I had a friend who used to work there and he's given out to me for applying for it. He once jokingly told me that they have circus performers in there to keep the mood up. ha! That's how depressing it is. I really don't want to ring them back but I know I should.

    Lifes too short:p

For some reason, I was just thinking about what your wedding day must have been like. The best man announces your entrance into the reception: "Ladies and gentleman, could you all please stand for Mr. & Mrs. Baps."

No doubt everybody (lads especially) was dying to see Mrs. Baps. But a Mr. Baps? Nope, I'm guessing they could have passed on that one.....:pac:

Women referring to their baby as "bubs" or "bubba" or "my little man". Couples together for years that go on "date nights". Irritating beyond belief :(

Trying to avoid small talk on the way home, involves walking slow enough not to catch up with the person in front of me, yet fast enought that the mother behind me doesn't catch up to me.(

This happens me nearly every day. I keep saying to myself "don't turn around, don't turn around" and then, fcuk, I turn around. If you make eye contact then that's it. :)

My neighbour, who is really lovely, called in yesterday, just as I had got the kids sorted and was about to have my dinner. She stayed for a half an hour while the dinner went cold. Then arranges for me to go in for coffee later today. I'm dreading it because I think we said all we have to say to each other in the half an hour visit yesterday.

I hope they can too. That sounds absolutely awful you poor thing :( get better soon!

    Thanks Kat.
My lovely other half rang the doctor's this morning and I was given a 10am appointment.

The minute I sat down, the GP said "You're really not well are you?" to which I whispered my response (that's how sore my throat had become).
Told her everything; she gave me antibiotics and steroids and when I told her I smoked, she offered me the chance to come off them using Champix.

I had never attempted to quit before but with this chest infection, I've gone the longest without a smoke; coming up to a week.
I have no craving for one and I keep thinking how bad my infection is and how horrible smoking is, so I took her up on the offer.

Anyway, the antibiotics have kicked in already and I'm bloody tearful with appreciation. Fell asleep for two hours aswell.
    My poor body :(

TA'd that I don't have anything for dinner and I'm too sick to do a shop.

I had a nap, I don't want to get out of bed, it's too comfy and warm. And I've just discovered the most perfect position for lying. But if I don't get up and cook I'll be hungry later. And If I leave it any later to cook, my mother will go mental. And if I don't go out and turn on the heating, she'll also go mental. I don't want to go outside either ha.

I ordered stuff on Amazon on Monday - directly from Amazon, not marketplace. Estimated delivery date: Jan 21! Wtf, both items were in stock?! Are they just holding my order for 2 weeks now before shipping it? I could have selected 'express' delivery by the 12th at extra cost, what a joke! If it wasn't such good value I'd cancel.

    Rookie move.

You need to put it through the dishwasher first to give it a test driven feel.

    The phrase "well wear"

I'd never heard this phrase until I saw the threads about 2016 reg cars. I'm trivially annoyed about that.

See, that's the difference between man and a dildo right there. The dildo arrives on time:).

    Well wear.

You wouldn't get to test them straight away, you'd just have to fap away normally for the first few days cos in most jobs you have to work a week in 'hand' :pac:

    I've been sick since Friday.

It was aches and chills and head pressure and a cold and fatigue and unbelievable leg pain and a cough but yesterday the cough really seemed to be getting worse.

My other half kept telling me to go to the doctor but I refused, telling him it was just a cough.
    Well, I give in.

I spent most of today coughing so hard I threw up, my eyes are bloodshot, my throat is killing me, I've eaten barely anything since last week and worst of all, I've had little sleep.

I went to bed this evening at midnight but as soon as I lay my head down, I started coughing again.
I tried sitting up, but that didn't help.

So now, at 4:35am, I'm sitting in the living room, watching How I Met Your Mother (I hate Robin) and coughing again.
I feel like bawling my eyes out at this stage; I'm just so tired of coughing and I need sleep.

Fingers crossed the doctor can fit me in tomorrow morning.

Sorry your not feeling well, looks like my OH could be getting sick too he had a fever last night :(

I agree Robins the worst character on the show, it became like lost to me - a show that started off with a good premise but then the writers thought it was better off as something other then what it was and went with the parts that most infuriated the audience. In losts case mystery upon mystery that you just kept watching to see solved and in How I met your Mothers case, Robin and the endless line of women I banged who weren't your mother but I'm going to waste time on anyway. You were told she wasn't the mother in the first episode and while I don't think just because its in the name, thats all that your shows about, we were constantly told this is the story about how I met your mother and maybe we'll eventually get there .

I liked the mother character but I wish the last couple of episodes at least could have been about her and Ted's relationship and whacky adventures with his friends instead of the dragged out weekend we got and maybe then I could have been ok with the end, as she always seemed like an after thought, like oops havn't mentioned her in a while look a yellow umbrella

Afaik there was 2-3 endings recorded and they went that ending as seemingly they taught it most unlikely to be leaked as it was lame

This: the new edition of Soundings, the Leaving Cert poetry book from the 90s.

It's not so much the cynical appeal to nostalgia that annoys me (at least it gets people reading some good poems: or at least owning a book with some good poems in it).

It's the image of the sticker, partly peeled back due to losing stickiness, that I know is just a picture and not a real sticker. Yet my brain will never know that completely, and every time I see that book I get anxious because I want to stick the turned-up part back down, but I know it'll be like that for eternity, like a Jack Russell with one ear turned up, running away from me, laughing, always just out of reach of my despairing attempts to flip its ear back.
