Cheap toiletries are usually a false economy. My ex-flatmate used to call me a brand slave because I bought Fairy Liquid. He had no idea - I buy almost everything at Aldi, but cheap washing up liquid is just ridiculous. Fairy lasts many, many times longer for not even twice the price.
    +1
I'm still using a bottle of Fairy I opened in August! (I wrote the date on it to see how long I'd have it). There's another month in it I'd say. And I wash up all the time!

TA this morning: I've a sore arse from my new exercise bike. It's a great yoke, nice and quiet so I can watch Big Bang Theory while using it, but the saddle hurts my arse.

I went out for dinner yesterday evening, 3 courses is never a bother to me. But I came home feeling uncomfortably full, to the point of thinking I might puke. I couldn't get to sleep for ages, and woke at 5.30 feeling like shyte. When I wake at that time, everything that is worrying me starts to go through my mind, and there's no getting back to sleep. I still feel like shyte:(. I can't eat, I don't know am I losing my eating prowess, or did I have something coming on me.
The teenager set her alarm for 6.20. Absolutely no need for this at all, as she didn't get up till 7.45, and was still late walking out the door.
I'm always trying not to TA people myself, so I hate it when I'm bringing the little one to playshool if someone gets to the green man a bit before us. I'm either trying to hurry her up so we can all cross together, or hang back a bit so I'm not making the same cars stop again.
Trying to avoid small talk on the way home, involves walking slow enough not to catch up with the person in front of me, yet fast enought that the mother behind me doesn't catch up to me.
I've to drive into town in a while, I can't use my car as my wipers are after sh1tting themselves again, and I can't trust it not to rain. Instead I have to drive the eldest's car. I hate driving other peoples cars at the best of times, but hers is lowered with big wide wheels, and the steering is heavier.
Basically, I've had enough, I want this day to be over with:(

Belt could have slipped off in transit. Take the platter off and have a look.

I've poked and prodded at it but no joy, I didn't want to do too much in case I invalided the warrenty on it.
It's also one of these retro jobs, so it's not so straightforward to investigate.

The "funny" chalk board signs outside cafes and pubs (e.g. "Husband day-care inside"). I know I'm a real grouch but they just annoy me and any time I see a decent one I instantly assume it's been ripped from reddit or imgur.

    The whole new year thing.

Firstly, is it "Happy New Year" or "happy new year" when typed?

Secondly, having to remember who you said HNY to.
If you don't say it at all, you sound like a grumpy twat, and if you say it more than once to the same person, they'll think you a regular twat, I guess.

My way out of this is to not say it at all. If somebody says it to me, they get a "Same you!" back. Actually, I find it annoying that you should have to say it at all.

On a related note, people wanting to shake hands while saying it. I'll always shake when somebody initiates, but I'll never start it. And it's not that I'm a germophobe or anything.

I have been sick EVERY Christmas for the past 5 years. Colds flu puking, you name it. This Christmas, I am unemployed for the first time in my working life.....and no colds flu or puking ! I think a lot of people get sick when they are going back to work because of the sedentary period over Christmas, and the upheaval to get back into work mode again. No doubt, when I get a job, I'll be the same !

Baked some scones for the first time in ages. Big effort. But then inadvertantly put the heat on to 240.
I now have 6 dough rocks to eat.

This is stupidly trivial but I missed a call about a job. Well I let it ring out, my brain was too foggy. First of all I'm not ringing back an 1890 number. Secondly the job is my idea of a nightmare, applied out of desperation. I had a friend who used to work there and he's given out to me for applying for it. He once jokingly told me that they have circus performers in there to keep the mood up. ha! That's how depressing it is. I really don't want to ring them back but I know I should.
