That fella really loves his Kilmarnock!

    Great editing by the producers.

The Cantona one is my number 1. The rising anger of Jonathon Pierce mixed with the mellow tune in the background.

I'm sick of that Rugby league one, love the John Delaney one, I heard that song in a shop recently and was half expecting to hear Delaney and Darcy talk over it.

Richie's story about the Germany match was a bit surreal

That New Years Eve episode is one of my favourites ever. Richie saying " Paul Kimmage told me off recently, the night we qualified for the Euros for standing and cheering. I stood up to applaud the players off at half time and he looks at me and says no cheering in the press box". Murph quick as trigger "You did well in to last this long in life without being told off by Paul Kimmage." This followed up with Ken telling the story where Kimmage turned around and chastises him about his smoking habits. Great stuff

Sick of the rugby leave one and the Eric Cantons one. I could listen to the Pat Spillane banjo one all day though!

Love these podcasts. Look forward to them every week - sad I know!

I laughed at Richie's comment about the silly overreaction to him replacing Giles on the panel "it was like I crept into his bedroom and put a pillow over his head and smothered him"

Hopefully in 2016 Hollywood will get their arse in gear and gave us The Richie Sadlier Story.

So much material to choose from:

The life and death of Frank the dog
Gangsters at the Millwall Christmas Party
Ireland Under 20s X Rated World Cup Hotel Games
Battling to keep his Girlfriend alive in War Torn Palestine while encamped in Lansdowne Road

    etc etc etc

It's like free Oscars for the first Producer to pick up the rights. I know there was already an Opera based on Richie's life but the ordinary people of the World deserve to hear these stories too.

That could be the, ahem, money shot in post gay-marriage Ireland...

Kens story about being told off by Paul Kimmage for smoking was great!

That whole podcast was gold. Solid gold. Had me in fits of laughter while I was out running earlier.

    That's gold Jerry. GOLD!

Ken was on with Matt Cooper again. Him getting a regular gig on another communicorp station is a bit unexpected. DO'B doesn't really come across as the forgiving type.

DOB wasn't the station editor today though....

He takes monday off cos he's rostered on Saturday..... that's why Lawro gets work on 'permiership live'... DOB is mad for Lawro.

Isn't Today FM in the same building as Newstalk? Weird that they don't just grab one of the current OTB guys (there seems to be about 25 of them).

OK, I don't think Denis micromanages every aspect of communicorp's operations, but he was personally involved when the lads were threaten to leave. He rang Mcdevitt for a chat on a Friday night, they were being escorted from the building Monday morning. As I said, he's not really a live and let live kind of guy.

It seems to say in the annual you can buy SC mugs & tshirts secondcaptains.com, but I can't find them on it.

Anyone know where I can get these?

Agreed, they leave them on the table after. Get up there quick and pinch one. That's how I got mine.

I still had to try my best not to laugh out loud whilst listening to it at work in the office :D

Those Sam Alerdice anecdotes were amazing. Maybe not that funny but Kens delivery made them hilarious.

"Turns out it was Mike Phelan. MIKE PHELAN."

10/10 for the annual. Some of the comedy articles weren't my cup of tea, but I thought parts on Duff, McGregor, Izenberg and Clare footballers in '92 were all fantastic. Well worth a read.

I think the lads are at their best with the long form stuff. That can be seen in the annual but also over the Christmas/New Year podcasts, where they were reviewing the year rather than focusing on topical subjects.

The mugs are the one piece of merch I'd buy. I hope they get them on the store some time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,248 ✭✭✭✭BoJack Horseman

Its a wonder why they don't merchandise more?

  • Moderators, Arts Moderators Posts: 23,997 Mod ✭✭✭✭TICKLE_ME_ELMO

They give mugs away on twitter sometimes. Thought I had won one a while back when they favourited my "****e mug" picture but they never announced any winners :(

Won a tshirt once though :)

We should be thankful. We'd never hear the end of talk of mugs, pens,t-shirts and laminated posters of Ken!
