Tharmor they are still showing up in stock for me. I could be wrong but is the online shop linked to the shop where you shopping comes from? My sis couldn't see them when she logged in so I got some for her. I am in South Dublin and my shopping comes from maynooth.

I also bought a few packs of 3 pk Christmas decorations for €0.14! They look like little presentS!

I'm assuming if they substitute you don't have to pay the balance?

Yes I only paid €0.85 each :D shoppers are very good there as I am always ordering odd things from homeware. Those energiser head torches never came up online for me, it was the tesco delivery man last weekend who showed me his and told me to order them! I also ordered a screwdriver set for €1.90 on his recommendation.

I signed up for €10 a month for unlimited deliveries :)
I always have weird cheap things eg foot pump for €0.68 or the screwdriver for €0.25! Sometimes I get them and sometimes I don't but I keep trying every week and then I eventually get them ;) also I write notes with "please and thank yous" once the pickers actually wrote me a note back lol lol

According to HUKD there's 15% off all gift cards until January 10th. Does anyone know if this is in operation here? Actually my brother works in Tesco and, comically, nobody in the entire store knew. The only way to find out is to put one through the till and activate it at which point there's no going back.

Got a €25 Google Play gift card today and did get 15%/€3.75 off so the offer is indeed running. Not the slightest indication from the shelf though.

    https://www.giftcards.tesco.com/catalogue/Branded-Gift-Cards
Seems to be 15% only on Google, itunes and Pizza Express

It's my mistake....not all gift cards but just the iTunes and Google Play ones! Sorry!

Mirror wall did you get fancy Egyptian cotton sheets?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,751 ✭✭✭mirrorwall14

I m in drogheda and they only ever substitute when sth is similar price. In fairness truly surprised they are so dumb to substitute 0.85c item for sth that cost 30€. :D

The descriptions of the different sheets- weren't a million miles away from one another. The picker probably saw 'cotton sheet- kingsize' and grabbed a cotton sheet in the appropriate size without looking at any other factors......... It happens- I wouldn't expect the picker to have a job there for very long- if they do that too often..........

Does anyone know if there is a price scanner in tesco dundrum in working order? I've never seen one? That's my local tesco.

I was in tesco nutgrove today and they have one. It was great to use! I ended up picking up a load of children's clothes that were scanning a lot cheaper than the price tag. I could go up to it with a basket of clothes and scan them all (none of which scanned in at listed price). I obviously wouldn't do this if I had to bring them up to customer service and then decide I didn't want any of them etc.

Would be great if they had one in my local...

Please would be nice? You got an answer to my question? Here's an answer to yours...Yes.. Bibs listed €3 were €1. Sleep suits listed €10 were €3.75, vests listed €6-7 were €3 per pack. None of these were on sale rack and all with the the normal priced items.

Yes, it is down the shampoo aisle (think it's that, or perhaps clothes aisle), against a pillar which is conveniently covered by a display stand! They said they would uncover it a year and a half ago since it still worked and the other one wasn't going to be fixed...ho, hum! You have to slide the display stand out of the way but the scanner worked last time I tried (probably still works because no one is able to use it!).

Thanks very much. Really appreciate your reply. Hopefully it works! Will look for it when I'm in next time.

    For the cyclists:
    Spotted some Muc-Off Bike Cleaner 1L for €3.10;
    Also Muc-Off Biodegreaser 500ml for €3.39

    Both in Tesco Extra Drogheda.

Tesco Finest Vintage Port 1997 @ €10. Picked up last two bottles in Jervis but worth keeping an eye out for elsewhere.

in douglas they have sharp aquos tvs on sale. €349 for the 40" and €399 for the 43". for those in the know, are these a good price??

The 43" was €379 before Christmas - I bought one. Now its marked €399 'reduced from €599'

    Its not a 'great' price.
SMART TVs are the tvs in 'fashion' offering more - streamline services e.g. Netflix etc.

Manufacturers / Retail shops are getting rid of Non-Smart stock so I reckon they'll be redundant soon. I think €400 is a wee bit expensive for these tvs.
