A green S class. Who does it. Mind you it is not the worst stand out colour. My jaw dropped the other day when I passed a bright red s class on the street. Amazed merc even offered these options on such a dignified, discreet flagship model.

The dark green is quite a classy color imo.
I think it suits the shape of the s class.

Nope well no mention of it in the ad but I should have bought it as it was for nothing. I missed out on a lovely LS 460 last week too..

What 460 was this? I keep an eye on them and the only one I saw move was a front end damage silver one for 8k.

Ok, so we both saw the same one - silver 07, mayo reg. Not sure if it was such a bargain to be honest.

The two ones that sold recently were asking 9k and had no damage and FSH.

It would have taken at least 2k to get that silver one right.

Ya I seen the one for 9k too, that one would have suited me as I could fix it in my own time but ya about 2K to fix and there was me thinking no one wanted them..:pac:

didn't it have a battery problem then ? if somebody did all the work to replace a dead cell id say they deserve the profit.

Were there any details on the battery issue?

It's a huge amount of car for the money, even at the new price, but could be risky if there's an underlying battery problem that hasn't been fixed fully.

Some cheap enough S350s showing up recently, this one is asking €8k. However, it requires a heater module which could be costly but I'm really not sure.
Edit: Looked up heater module W221 on eBay and there's one for £90, I could live with that if it was an easy install, of course there could be other issues related to the module.

Not sure if this counts as Luxobarge but I've driven one and they are seriously smooth.

    Long NCT 02/17. €4500

yeah I saw the sclass asking 8k yesterday. I have to ask myself, if that is all that's wrong, are they simply being lazy or is there more to it than just plug and playing that module in. As you say, there is one in Poland asking £60 with a make an offer price!

If its so simple, why aren't they doing it and putting it up for 10k?

yeah this will likely be my next car, would prefer the s500 though, I would feel a lot better about the motor tax driving the 5L v the 3.5L... It has to be in black though...

Could be a major job requiring the entire dashboard to be removed and would require Merc expertise to do, unlikely to be many DIY writeups online for the job. I do love the look of these cars but reliability would be a concern for me, particularly when you hear about the issues for the previous model.

yeah I love the look of them too. The previous generation just look so dated... I know a lot of the E65's are going for nothing, but I wouldn't touch a non facelift, due to the looks and the facelifts being more reliable...

In relation to the heating module for that merc, a call to a dealership or merc specialist would answer that question. The hedgehog heater control unit has gone on my E46 and its a E50 install from a bmw specialist. As you say, you go to that type of car and the costs could potentially be laughable...

The hedgehog (or Final Stage Resistor) is a simple plug and play on the BMW. Its just to the right of the centre console where your left foot would rest.

Just make sure if doing yours, to do so with one of the newer versions. They don't die like the older plastic ones.

thanks for the helpful info! my bro is massive into these DIY jobs on his bm now, so he is going to do it for me :) I will make sure I get one of the newer versions!

I think the pre facelift E65 is slowly becoming a classic...... we just weren't ready for it at the time.... and I drive a facelifted version!

In the right colour, with the right wheels, the prefacelifts are menacing, really brutish. The facelifts are softer and classier. Depends what you want really.

I don't think any colour combo can make me love the weird lights across the boot arrangement. thats the bit that ruins it for me.

The first car that I could recognise the tail lamp signature at night in my rear view mirror :D

    Chrysler 300C

    06
    Two years NCT
    Less than 100k miles
Should get it for 5 grand.

I remember the first time I saw one - in Boston. Nearly dropped me hot dog!

Not sure what the "Bentley badges" is about.... is it like when you made a mud flap for your bicycle out of an old wellington and wrote "Capri" on it :D

That Corolla probably had a better looking dashboard than that Chrysler though. .:D

    300C is gone already.

Have a mate looking for one, linked him to it to his dismay.

Don't see anyone spending 1809e per year on a Hyundai.

A contender for the most unsaleable car in Ireland?
