Nomadic how did you get on with War of the Ring ?.

Only got maybe 4 games in since I picked it up. Pretty good though, first game was very slow but we were only figuring it out then. A lot had clicked by the second play, so it moves along at a better pace now. Still have to consult the rule book every so often of course, but thats to be expected.

Otherwise, it's really good and has a lot of what I'd look for in a game. I've only played the Fellowship side too so far. Be interested in trying the 4 player mode somewhere down the line.

I posted here a while back about getting Settlers of Catan, and now having played a solid 10+ games, I can indeed confirm that it deserves it's plaudits.

Bought it ages ago but the last game I bought was Smash Up!. Couldn't recommend it more highly, really simple for people who just want to mess about but has some really fun and interesting interactions.

If you like CATAN ,I would recommend getting a copy of Catan geographies Germany .which IMO is the best in the Catan series.

Just got this, considering how many "game of the year" awards this is being considered for, I'm very much looking forward to cracking it open.

Played Mysterium twice this weekend after getting it as a birthday present on Friday. Works grand as a two-player game but very enjoyable with 5 or more. Quite a hard endgame though.

just got Caverna for my birthday.
    pic1790789_md.jpg
Played our first game 4 players and I won with 64 points.
Missed a few rules in the first game so looking foward to a 2 player game later with the wife.
First impressions are very good, will take a few plays to figure out all the scoring opprtunities.

Picked it up from gamersworld at Gaelcon.

Really bloody hard. But interesting additions. Look forward to seeing how it turns out.

Hope it's as much fun as Risk Legacy.
Which cursed me and the lads over the weekend.
    Wasn't expecting that.

Recently got War of the Ring, played it once so far so looking forward to trying it again now we know the rules.

Also bought a few new games the other day, Codenames, spyfall and dixit odyssey, as wanted options besides Avalon for 7/8 players. Codenames and spyfall look like they'll be great games. Played original dixit before but don't own it so figured I'd pick up odyssey too.

Got this delivered the other day. It's a serious size. It'll be my first look into RPGs and it's quite a bit to take in.

Also picked up End of the World: Zombie Apocalypse last week. Lovely book. Very easy to run by the looks of things.

I was on a weekend away when I can across a single copy of this sitting on a shop shelf. I couldn't believe my eyes ,given the crazy prices been asked online.
Snapped it up and ran from the shop before anyone else could claim my " precious".:D

While I was away I visited a couple of boardgame shops in stockholm. One of them called Dragons Lair had the most amazing boardgame collection of any shop I ever visited.I could have spent the whole weekend in there. And as a bonus the staff were very friendly and helpfull.
As a result I got a bit carried away....

Just bought War of the ring and can't wait to play it. I've watched so many vids and plsythroughs I am fairly confident the rules will be easy enough and intuitive enough.

    Swords%20%26%20Wizardry%20Complete%20Rulebook.jpg

    https://www.froggodgames.com/swords-wizardry-complete-rulebook

Swords & Wizardry hard-back rulebook. It's the original D&D rules from the 1970s tidied up to make them easier to read. I played a game of it on Monday using the free PDF download available while I'm waiting for my book to arrive. It was great fun. Very easy to learn, lets you do cool things. We really enjoyed it :)
