I thought the roof was going to come off the office a while back there and its getting bad again as forecasted... i was due be flying into Dublin around now from LGW but the trip was cancelled last week.. i wouldnt have minded the holding or even the turbulance hell id even enjoy the go around but the idea of being stranded in BFS under the care of lets say not my favourite airline... think i dodged a bullet....

Thanks. Always intrigued what happens, never had a diversion yet, always heard horror stories about monstrous delays and unhelpful airlines.

Stobart from Aberdeen is down in Dublin, if he can make it they all can!

Happened me twice, first time they cancelled my flight while we sitting in our seats on the Tarmac, we were already 2 hours late. They then loaded the flight with passengers from a later flight who were then able to leave on time and avoid any delays refreshment cost etc. to ryanair.

We all got vouchers for something like €7 each and had to wait about 6 hours. I got the impression they would rather shaft one flight completely rather than have knock on effects all day.

Another time in dublin they just announced flight xxx etc. was now going from belfast instead please head to the bus.

Negative. The trouble with gusts is that they are highly unpredictable, imagine walking through a crowd of people and they are all pushing you from different directions, you don't know where or when the next push or force will come from, the same could be said for gusts. The stobart that landed may have just caught a break between the gusts and made it down, another aircraft could be on approach less than a minute later and could experience severe gusts and flightpath disruption which may necessitate a go around.

Just out of interest, how on earth would that flight from London to Cork that ended up in Liverpool deal with the angry passengers? Hardly likely that Ryanair would have space tomorrow on their Liverpool - Cork flights... would Ryanair run a special flight for them, or would it be a case of 'tough, make your own way to Cork and send us receipts'.

A diversion to Dublin or Belfast would be a pain, but at least the airline would put on a bus. Over the water, its harder to do that.

Twas actually a LGW-SNN flight. Apparently it will fly to Shannon soon as the wind has calmed a bit.

QNH rising quickly at DUB. Newbie query: What height on the altimeter would a difference of 1 HaP cause?

she is going some looping around Kerry and Cork! unusual path to be taking, wonder who/how would that be set up considering local choppers/planes etc, surely out over the sea would be better option especially at 12k feet?

She just flew over here, made me check flight radar and here as it sounded "odd" to me - very high pitched engines.

It had no missed approaches. On the ground now. Due to weather the flight path was a bit all over the place but there was no approaches made. I can see where you thought one of the missed ones were (On approach to the temo closed RWY25), but what was the other?
