    What a profession. To face all that with calm and safety in mind reassures me no end.

    I know we all like looking at the go arounds, diversions and all the rest of it when the winds are high, but as a pax, it ain't pretty. But as I said in an earlier post, reading here has got me through the wall of worry about turbulence and high wind landings.

    Well done to all. There's no harm in enjoying the excitement, but as long as everyone is safe that's the main thing, and they are, no matter where they end up eventually!

    It's pretty wild out there now in Dublin. Can't imagine what it's like for pax on board who may be nervous. And most are, because they don't know as much as you do, or as I do now, having read this thread.

    During a Go-Around I was on last Sunday a passenger beside me was quietly sobbing to herself.
    May seem extreme to us, but I completely understand it. It's neverwracking to say the least, coming in, getting bounced around by the wind, then all of a sudden, just as you think you're down, you hear the engines scream before darting up into the clouds again.

    Just noticing the two BA A380's one from LAX and one from SFO, both took off over 3 hours late from their destination. Wonder what happened there.

    Just out of interest, how on earth would that flight from London to Cork that ended up in Liverpool deal with the angry passengers? Hardly likely that Ryanair would have space tomorrow on their Liverpool - Cork flights... would Ryanair run a special flight for them, or would it be a case of 'tough, make your own way to Cork and send us receipts'.

    A diversion to Dublin or Belfast would be a pain, but at least the airline would put on a bus. Over the water, its harder to do that.

    Firstly passengers have no right to be angry over the weather.

    As regards dealing with them, Ryanair will probably just take off around now from Liverpool and fly to Cork once they know the winds have passed.

    They will just rejig the schedule, bus people from SNN to Cork or Belfast to Dublin as necessary, send Stansted passengers to LGW etc.

    Happened me a couple of times and that how it played out.

    A few will probably be completely shafted but they will deal with the largest numbers quickest to minimise the cost to themselves.

    Thanks. Always intrigued what happens, never had a diversion yet, always heard horror stories about monstrous delays and unhelpful airlines.

    Stobart from Aberdeen is down in Dublin, if he can make it they all can!
