By what logic would a flight from UK to Shannon divert to Liverpool when Dublin and Belfast are operating near normal?

Winds building in Dublin. Probably concerned about fuel remaining.

They need to head somewhere were a landing can be more certain

As in they are guaranteed to dart straight into Liverpool but haven't enough fuel to do more than one approach in Dublin?? Thats a bit flippin tenuous isn't it?

As has been said they will go somewhere where a landing is more probable. They would have planned their alternates for this flight before they took off from lgw. It's all about safety in this game. Safety comes first and commercial considerations second.

RYR292 inbound to Cork, joining the hold for 10 minutes and diverting to Shannon then if unable to make an approach to Cork.

EDIT: is now heading northeast and climbing, possibly dublin or liverpool bound
