Christ don't do that, your brain is suffering from lack of oxygen as it is

The video is clear evidence that he was involved in a non peaceful protest and was interfering with an arrest along with the rest of the gobsh1tes.

The Garda was writing in his notepad and the old man was merely talking to him.
    Why push him?
Why push him three times in fact?
Why the need to beat him?

    Oh I know, you said:
The gard was well within his rights to give a few slaps to that rabble if he felt threatened.

So, can you explain to us why the Garda felt threatened by an old man talking to him in a non-aggressive way (after the arrested man has been led away by other Gardai) as can clearly be seen from the video at 3m22s?

Well for a start standing like centurions over water meters
you forgot the bit about the gardai blocking the thugs who think that intimidating the IW workers & contractors from doing their job is a form of protest - in terms of protest, please refer back to my last post.
Acting like a scumbag thug is not a valid form of protest.

did he try to steal a note book out of a gardas hand ?

He grabbed him by the scruff and shoved him back. And he was equally as big as the garda. If that's not threatening behaviour, neither was the elderly mans actions.

So I reckon he was a plain clothed garda.

Call BS all you like, but as ever, you have fcuk all to back it up.

I have the footage which clearly shows the man calmly standing beside him and speaking. Nothing whatsoever in that foorage suggests that he is being aggressive as to warrant being shoved, let alone so aggressive as to justify being beaten with a baton about the head.

    lol
Thanks for linking the video again.Like I said I could watch it all day.

He was trying to grab his notebook.End of story.

And what lesson did he learn ?? Dont touch a garda or anything he holds at a non-peaceful protest.

Unless the old man has the index finger and thumb of a 'left hand', on his 'right hand', then he never touched the Garda's bloody notebook! :D

Well, if you're right, then even more kudos to him for stepping in and stopping an elderly man from being even more viciously assaulted than he already was.

It'll be intresting to see what the outcome of the ombusdman investigation will be. According to other websites i've seen this guard is very well known for attacking people. Wether that's true or not is another thing....

I'm not on Facebook. Could you give me a name? And could you explain why the garda didn't swing his baton at a large male aggressively pushing him, but had no problem belting an old man a few times?

Look pal you have a lot to say about an auld lad who got a tip of a baton. ?

First ..he was part of a chanting mob obstructing the gardai in carrying out their duties.

Second ..at his age he should not be in the forefront of any violent protest.

Thirdly..he got a slap of a baton on the shoulder and went down like a premier league footballer...bet he is a hero now for all the dole hounds in his area ...probably has grannies flinging their smalls at him ....:D

If he had received another blow of that baton, that may not have been the case, that's the point. Yet another of which appear to have gone over your head.

LOL! What facts have you posted?? Where's this so called evidence??

First you came on the thread claiming the Garda was acting in "self defense". Then you claimed the man had "assaulted" the Garda and then you also said that he had tried to "rob his notebook". All 100% waffle and the footage proves it. You haven't a screed to back any of your nonsense claims up and yet you have the audacity to talk about facts and evidence?
