I may get a new cigarette lighter that blown bulb is annoying it's mad. But at night the fact it doesn't light up annoys me. I need to get an identical one to go in as it would annoy me if it was anyway different I might just go to the main dealer and price one. I assume they are easy to replace two wires swap over isn't it.

Aye madness. It's the small things.

Did you upgrade to the nightbreakers yet? Saw an ad somewhere for one of the main dealers doing a good price on them.

I've Bosch 120% H7s in the C5 right now. They're as good as the nightbreakers and that's good praise. Got two for 22 in Halfords a while back

    Any h3s mycroft?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,313 ✭✭✭Mycroft H

I *think* so. The H3s could have been cheaper. The H4s were anyway.

Having redundant steering controls would just do my head in.

You do need them though, tablets have volume controls on the side which will be behind the fascia.

I don't plan on using the AUX IN on the old headunit either.

Ye I got night breakers after about a week. I'm gone so used to them I wouldn't be without them.

I looked at that before. Was very hesitant about it, as I have a real pet hate of non oem radios in cars. The silver of that radio is a bit brighter than the surrounding silver facia, and sure you can't be having that!

I hate non OEM too, but unfortunately, oem usually aren't up to scratch. As far as i know the silver just looks brighter in the pictures. I have an Eonon in mine, specifically because it looks OEM.

Ya yours looks perfect, you would think it's oem. I've seen quite a few mondeos for sale, especially in the uk that have that head unit in, and even still it has a brighter colour tinge. Mightn't look as bad in the focus, as the facia in that is more of a carbon fibre look finish.

    I've looked at these before.

My dashboard colours are like this:
    hqdefault.jpg

So this one would suit me:

Even if the grey is a different shade it should look well. I'm still not sure though.

They are honestly worth it, mine came in at €510 including Customs and VAT. Mine has Bluetooth + A2DP, Sat Nav, DVD Player, iPod, Aux In, Reverse Camera, TV, SD slot, USB drive the whole lot.

Why is their 2 light switch switches in your car?

Front and rear fogs on the left and park and dip lights in the right, standard for that Era BMW.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,925 ✭✭✭GvidoR

    Fascinating.

The E36 has only one switch though.

E36 has two buttons for the fogs beside the light switch.
Didn't know the e39 was like that!

Actually think it's just the e38/9, e46 has buttons too I think.

Yep, I ordered direct from Eonon's site, the Chinese one instead of UK.

Did you get hit with customs? I see on ebay they can be got cheaper shipped from Italy. But don't know if it would be safe

eBay would be the way to go, I'd say. Italy is within EU so no custom charges, faster delivery and you can open a case if anything goes wrong. eBay always favors the buyer.
