Brake/Tail lights flashing instead of the indicators. Or all or a combination of the above. Used to see a lot of it. But theres feck all puntos left on the road I've noticed recently.

    Found a vid.

    Electrical gremlins. Bad earth/connection/shorting issues.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,925 ✭✭✭GvidoR

All 6 indicators flash quickly, but that's it. No other gremlins. I tried cleaning the connections but nothing changed.

MCM done a piece recently about rigging the lights to come on with ignition. I do it instinctively as well as making sure the cars in neutral, as I've a habit of leaving it in gear.

Ms jou's car's been recently set up to have lights on when handbrake's released.

No hassle at all, just coding.

    Very handy. :)

If no bulbs are gone the relay(s) need changing.

I'm driving here since about three. There are some amount of stupid drivers on the roads, the amount of people I saw on phones was shocking.

Landed in Tipperary at 6. Cork tomorrow. Not a beat skipped by the Sunny

Went on an epic trip in this weather to go view an E39 530d with brother, headford to carrick on shannon and back, castlerea road was a nightmare so just came back via charlestown as the roads suited the panzer tanks much better.

Impressive pull from the 2.9 bmw diesel unit tbh. My poor 520i lost a foglight bulb to standing water, oh well, it panzered on :p

More fun tomorrow to view a car for me :)

Dad came off the motorbike tonight. Slid on some diesel coming off a roundabout. front wheel went from under him, no getting out of that one. Wrecked his lovely ZZR. However, slid into a grass bank and walked away from it. Phew.

Ah sure I'm only down the road from Carrick :(

What route do you go from Tuam to Castlerea?

I'm glad he was able to walk away, but I'm finding it difficult to be sufficiently blasphemous about that. Bastarding diesel!!

No, it's just as you can see, there's numerous ways to go about. Trust me, I know them all, just wondering how others do it.

Bored sitting in traffic deliberately backfiring in front of Zafiras in the hope of something amusing happening.

Or how I spent my Friday evening on Botanic avenue.

Thinking of picking up a tablet to use as a car headunit...

Sourcing a fascia for a tablet will be tricky though. Another problem is steering wheel controls.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,925 ✭✭✭GvidoR

Yeah, it's too bad you can't cut the tablets to size. :P

Mine was luckily almost perfect size for a MK4, but not quite. Why do you need steering wheel controls with a tablet though?

Having redundant steering controls would just do my head in.

You do need them though, tablets have volume controls on the side which will be behind the fascia.

I don't plan on using the AUX IN on the old headunit either.

It's a great feeling knowing both cars are garaged in that rotten wind and rain :)

I may get a new cigarette lighter that blown bulb is annoying it's mad. But at night the fact it doesn't light up annoys me. I need to get an identical one to go in as it would annoy me if it was anyway different I might just go to the main dealer and price one. I assume they are easy to replace two wires swap over isn't it.
