Surely its worth a gamble at 40 quid. Aldi are opening where I live on Thursday (very exciting for the parish altogether :pac:) so gives me a reason to pop in.

I know them feels, have a very slow puncture.. Starting to be a pain to drive to the shop for a whistle of air for the tyre on the way to work every 3rd or 4th day.

Really need/want one myself. On the road a lot these days. You wouldn't believe some of the stuff I see.

Any idea of how long they can film for?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,718 ✭✭✭Hal1

For not much more you can get the eprance 0806 which is a quality dashcam and can take a higher capacity microSD( about 4/5 hours on a 64gb card). When the card gets full it recycles over previous recordings. If you like you can protect some of the recordings so they won't get wiped. There is a program stored in the root directory of the cam for viewing recordings so you can easily find what you want quickly. The gps version of the cam makes this easier.

You can always bring it back to the store and say you didn't like it;)

Aldi takes back anything up to 30 days iirc.

Yep they sure do, were quite happy to exchange the aloe vera toilet roll for regular stuff for me last week. Don't worry, I washed it before I repackaged it!

I had to have "recycled toilet tissue" explained to me as a child.

I hate non OEM too, but unfortunately, oem usually aren't up to scratch. As far as i know the silver just looks brighter in the pictures. I have an Eonon in mine, specifically because it looks OEM.

Just by pure chance I stumbled across this pic in a Ford forum.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,316 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

I don't think you need a display to tell you it's a Ford. The acres of silver plastic do it :)

That said, I got a taxi home from a wedding and the taxi driver had a top spec Mondeo with an LCD instrument panel. It looked class.

    I still hate mondeos though.

    Shots fired!

I'd prefer the brushed metal or piano black over the silver though. Gets a bit mundane after a while. That said, changing my radio to the piano black sony adds a bit of contrast and breaks it up a bit.

Still staying with the civic for now colm, I remember you were eying up a few accords?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,316 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

    Agreed.
I was thinking (as I do) about the way most manufacturers have copied VW when it comes to things like dashboard mounted rotary light switch and flip-out keys. The likes of Lexus and Toyota still have the light switch on the stalk and as a result get slagged in the likes of autoexpress.
It will get to the point where all quirks will be ironed out by the marketing departments in favour of conventional wisdom.
Will the gearbox ignition switch of old saabs become light switches in the indicator stalk?

For the next short while. I'm getting married in January, so we'll see what's left after that, I'm thinking another civic, a Kia optima or an A3 sportback.
The accords were fir the brother (who ended up getting an A4)

Oh right, good luck with the planning and all that, be getting a bit mad from here on in I'd say! Really like the newer a3s, was looking at them not long back. Go for any bit of spec at all, and they shoot up in price though.

    A3 is the clear choice.

If I was going A3 it would have to have the panoramic roof. Had one from work for a while and loved it. It was a 1.6 petrol which killed it. Only thing putting me off one is that the brother has an A4 :)
I would like one in red loaded with kit.

The civic is an amazing all-rounder. It's been utterly reliable since I got it. It's so practical with the magic seats in the back, plus it's a bit different, the newer model leaves me cold though, and another one like what I have would be a bit familiar.
