Ah shure the rampant antisemitism in Europe which portrayed the Jews as 'not like us'/'not integrated'/'not European' had no impact on why Hitler was appeased until he invaded Poland.

I do agree they have a Nazi like ideology - I disagree that we can only defeat them by adopting the same ideology.

you CANNOT appeal and talk to people who DO NOT want to talk and are 100% intent on violence its really that simple

It's not hyberbole and it speaks volumes about you that you can dismiss it as such. It's the exact same situation now as pre WW2.

This poor man below is about to be killed and there is about another 4,000 after him to come as well as the 999 odd that went before him who were killed for refusing to convert to islam. Tell me whats hyperbole about that image.

Tell me in all your wisdom how do you talk to people in the image below?

Syrian passport found on one of the killers. I would be very interested to know if he was a refugee and how they got the weapons. Do France not have strict gun control? How do 7 people in Paris get explosives and AK47s?

I find it hard to believe that the number of genuine racists on this thread matches the number of people so willingly throwing round such a strong accusation, especially in the face of such a shocking event for us.

Sure there has been the odd post of crazy (one a couple pages back), but most of the accusations are thrown at the first mention of islam. I think of myself as a compassionate person, a bleeding heart in a lot of my opinions. But I would have to qualify to **** anything I said about islam on this thread not be branded a racist it seems. And I understand that comes from a good place, ie a fear of fascism and toxic thinking, but for THIS problem, the prerequisite for someone to get involved is to believe islamic bull****. If it was people believing a version of christianity that they could back up with text from god who carried out the attacks I would naturally say that idealogy has to be challenged more vigorously, young minds are at risk. Thankfully there is no organised movement within christianity that requires that. It's whittling away of its own accord.

And of course people are going to 'knee-jerk', there aren't many shocking situations where humans first honest reaction is total rationality and application of logic. We'll naturally fumble around for something to bring equilibrium back to our brains.

Finally, yes it is important not to overreact. However, I know no people in my life though that would actually want anyone rounded up, or will become racist/xenophobic now. The worst I can imagine anyone I know saying is that immigration policies need to be reviewed.

Oh right, so we are going to pick and choose who gets rights and who doesn't?

Generally criminals lose some of their rights. The elephant in the room here which the pro violence crowd are perfectly aware of and are effectively sticking their fingers in their ears and yelling "la la la" when it's brought up is that INNOCENT muslims will die if we indiscriminately bomb the countries where Isis is operating. And that is not ok. We cannot respond in a way which is going to kill innocent people just because those innocent people speak a different language to the innocent people killed last night.

What exactly is your solution then?

ISIS and it's supporters must be eliminated for the sake of the poor people who live under their rule and to prevent their hatred being used to terrorise the world. They don't understand any other language other than violence. There is no negotiating with them, no reasoning. Have you seen what they do to their victims in Syria? Appeasement and ignoring that will only embolden them. Of course the bleeding heart liberals believe they're just misunderstood and a bit of love will sort it all out.

Why would you troll an incident like this?

In case you're serious: the victim here are the 150+ dead and the many injured. That video wasn't racist either.

I think the West needs to change their stance on Assad. They need to give the governments of Iraq and Syria the support they need to sort out the ISIS situation.

While much of what Assad has done is barbaric, the current situation of a failed state that is powerless to enforce its autonomy is useless to everyone. The only end game to me that has any prospect of success is Assad regaining control of all of Syria. Bombing eastern Syria into oblivion fixes nothing.

Ladies and gentlemen... the reason why we are where we are today.

There's so much wrong with this that I genuinely don't know where to start, but all the key elements are there - accusations of racism, blame-shifting, and making these extremists out to be poor victims.

I worry that people with beliefs like this are taken seriously, but thankfully it seems to be mostly confined to the nonsense of Twitter/Facebook and the likes.

EDIT: And as for the "unfortunate situation"... wtf?? Tell that to the families and friends of the dead or those who are waiting to hear whether their loved ones will survive this morning!
It's rare that I get so affected by a post that I report it, but I'm tempted by this one.

    Nonsense.

70 years of western countries sending troops to "help" middle east and nothing has improved. Dictatorships rise and fall, people die, new extremists appear, kill people, die off, and the cycle continues.

The western world hasn't done a single bit of long term good in the middle east, and should look at a strategic withdrawal from the entire area. Hold fair and free democratic elections, and we will help you defend your borders. Don't, and you're on your own, economically isolated from the rest of the world. Every invasion makes things worse, and now it's coming back to bite us in the ass.
Holding elections isn't really enough though, in countries heavily divided on sectarian and ethnic lines, otherwise you just end up with Iraq again and one group getting marginalised and resentful. More autonomous regions with a commitment to minority rights is the way forward I think

Islam creates it own enemies by instigating that all unbelievers should be killed and its immans encouraging attacks like this are creating Islamic Extremists. I don't consider Islam a religion it is a movement of hate and was founded Mohammed who was a mass murderer and a pedophile.

I'm not a fan of the Arabs, but we should admit when they do things better than we do.

You won't find a woman topless on a beach in Dubai, and if she does it, she'll soon pay the heavy price. This ensures we conform to their way of life. It works, there aren't too many drunken Western yobs around the streets.

Now, Muslims here wearing these black rags around their heads should be given the choice, 'Love, wear that rag around your head where ever you came from, or else bin it'. Anyone who doesn't conform can then be identifed as a threat to society and promptly deported.

    #standwithfrance you fu$k1ing idiot!!!

A hashtag sadly not trending across the Middle East and that's the problem. The solidarity across large swathes of the ME is firmly in favour of the attackers, we saw it in the celebrations in the Arab street post 9/11 and will no doubt see it again after this attack.

They question she is asking is where is your loyalties? Are you American first or Muslim first? Do you have a voice as a peaceful muslim who condemns? Then use the f**king thing.

Apologise, I will indeed retract. It wasn't you who said that, but a previous poster. What you said was this:
As has been explained already on this thread... the Old Testament is used by Judaism & isn't used in the Catholic mass.

And this was the bullsh!t statement from your part which I was attacking.
The Old Testament is read every Sunday during the first reading at Catholic and most other Christian masses. So to suggest that violence is associated with Islam because of the Qu'ran but to deny that it is associated with Christianity because of the Old Testament is pure hypocrisy. There's no other way around it. Either both religions are intrinsically violent because of their texts, or neither - but claiming that the old testament isn't used in Christianity is bullsh!t and well you know it.

Is Europe safer with more Muslims or less muslims?
The answer of course is with less muslims.

I have friends who were nearby and they have a fairly terrifying story of chaos in the streets and running from doorway to doorway while gunfire could be heard nearby.

Absolute nightmare from all accounts, even once out of the immediate vicinity of the attacks.

    Syrian Civilian Casualties: 90,000+
