Ah yeah once you have the cloud stuff setup, its just a matter of going into the settings > game saves on the 360 and just saying copy to cloud

If I log in with my second account will I be able to play BC games on my usual account or will I be only able to play them on the second account? Bearing in mind neither of my accounts are set to home xbox.

Microsoft really has done something incredible with the backwards compatibility.

Installed Gears of War 3 last night (don't even remember owning this digitally, maybe I got it through games with gold?) and was playing multiplayer matches perfectly. It even remembered my multiplayer rank.

As long as someone that is entitled to the game is logged in anyone else can log in and play it, at least that works for xbox one games.

By logged in you just mean added to the console yeah?

    Signed in, not just added.

Absolutely love the new dash- so much slicker and far easier to navigate, also spent hours playing mass effect & golden axe last night :D

360 backwards compatibility was a little lackluster, Xbox one has nailed it.

Wait, you can log in more than one account at the same time? I'm confused :o

You can yeah, often times the missus will pass the Kinect and it will sign her in, but my account will still be the active one.

Yeah you can have more than one account signed in at the same time. My console at home isn't my home console so i leave an account that owns the game signed in and my kid can play games on his own profile then and get achievements for himself etc.

How are people finding the backwards compatibility?

I downloaded DiRT3 last night and noticed when a new menu screen loaded there was a significant delay between the menu loading and being able to move the cursor to highlight a selection.

Was just wondering is this an issue with that game or with backwards compatibility in general?

Should note the gameplay was fine, issue was only in menus.

Yes, just added to the console. The profile doesn't need to be signed in for you to play games associated with that profile.

Just fired up the game there. I wasn't able to select the menu options while the announcer was explaining the options etc., which is by design I reckon.

    Is that what you're seeing?

Must try out the game with my racing wheel later, hopefully it works OK.

Didnt have the patience to do a full reset before I went to bed last night, but If anything, apps etc were taking longer to load on my xb with the new dash. I'll do a hard reset tonight now and see if its any better.

I like the look of it though, scrolling down to see your recent games and who's online playing what is great.

One thing I find annoying is it no longer tells you who your friends are in a party with

"Xbox go to game hub". You can always say "xbox select" and that will bring up the overlay that will show you what commands you need to go wherever.

I mean a game hub for a specific game, while on the home screen and not in a specific game. you can do it with the controller. Admittedly I haven't played around much, I'm sure its something obvious.

    AH!

Had the tv on mute so as not to wake my son, that would make sense, and also further proof I'm an idiot!

    As you were.

If Xbox One wheels are compatible then that will be major brownie points from me :)

Yes, just added to the console. The profile doesn't need to be signed in for you to play games associated with that profile.

The account does need to be signed in in micks case, as its not a home console.

On home its just "xbox go to game hub", if there are multiple hubs on the screen then you may have to say item 1 or item 2.

Having all the 360 games suddenly appear in your games list gives so many more games to play (or to flit around undecided on which one to play, jumping from one to the next).

I knew it was worthwhile picking up those 360 GwG titles even without having a 360 for the last two years.

Some games appeared in the list that I didn't even remember picking up.

Although, it does raise a few issues with games and apps.
    • There has to be a better way of sorting or filtering this massive, unwieldy list of games and 'ready to install' games. Even if you could filter by One and 360 titles would help.
    • They have (hopefully temporarily) removed the 'hide from list' option from the ready to install games list and all the games I had previously hidden are back again and there's no way to hide them (... I'm looking at you Zoo Tycoon Demo)

Otherwise a great update, once you unlearn the muscle memory of the old dash.

Seems like they know they need to upgrade the lists app.

Anyone find going all the way down to the bottom for your pins frustrating and a backward step? Before it was really easy to switch from twitch to YouTube to tv etc now it's a lot of work or is it just me?

Are you pressing RT to go instantly to pins from the top?

Yes, then someone told me to press the right trigger :)

No achievements or progress on back compat games. Is that normal or just me?

Just you, I'm afraid. Any Back compat games I had started and cloud saved I can pick up where I left off (two years later). If it was only saved locally on the 360, it's gone and I have to start again.

    Achievements are ok, though.

Well if you have played the games before on 360 you carry over the achievements you have already unlocked in the game and to continue your game from where you left off you would need to copy your 360 saves to the cloud

Its a brand new game starting from scratch. Found similar issues on reddit happening for all games not just back compatibility, says its fixed though. Maybe takes time to propagate.
