The Independent posted pics of the accident. Looks to be a new-ish Vovlo FH that hit an S40. Am I correct in thinking that the FH comes with forward collision radar with auto-braking as standard?

Certainly looks like a radar unit at the front of the truck. Hopefully this at lease minimised the impact, and the fact that they posted pics indicates that it's a non-fatal accident.

Some of the comments on the C&T "I hate the M50" thread are terrible.

Lucky you. I'm in the car over 3 hours now, and at this rate there's still another hour at least.

Not quite sure where I am either so no option but to follow the Nav.

Cheeses Cripes that would drive me absolutely insane. I was delayed by about three minutes this morning by the usual bit of a rain-induced tailback at the Kinsale Road Roundabout junction with the South Ring. :pac:

Heading to see a 170 Passat tomorrow, curious what it will be like in comparison to the Honda.
Has a nice enough spec, satnav, heated seats, cruise and a nice enough colour.
There is another one I'm thinking of letting my inner child decide about just because it has the dynamic audio system and rear heated seats :D
Slightly cheaper than the one I'm seeing tomorrow but the wheels are utter cack and I wouldn't be able to afford replacing alloys just yet.

Are you going to be spending much time in the back of the car bear?

    Room for one more... :)

Nah I won't be but for e.g. the wife sits there with the baby on trips and with winter practically upon us I thought it "may" make sense.
    But yeah maybe it's pointless.
The upgraded audio system would be nice though

Called the fella I crashed in to last Sunday and he doesn't want to make a claim. Just said the doors are opening and he isn't bothered about scratches..

It doesn't seem to bad in the review. Main issue seems to be that the interior is dated which I agree with and that the boot is small. But the reviewer said its the same as the accord tourer which is what I had and that wasn't bad at all.
But I think the interior would bore the socks off of me especially as the model I've been offered doesn't have the satnav or the bose.

If that were me, I'd be getting/looking for something in writing saying he doesn't wish to claim, or something to confirm that he won't in the future look to make a claim, just to safeguard yourself.

I don't know much about this, just seems logical to me.

I wouldn't really worry about the satnav if I was you. Actually most (if not all) built-in car navs are the most expensive ones in terms of maps update. And even the newest available maps are up to 2 years old.

But it's your money after all, so do what you want. :)

I wouldn't push it to be honest. I'd cross my fingers and say nothing. Don't want to piss off the fella after he does you a favour

Ya, well I rubbed up against his car, as he seen me and had pulled in.( I didn't see him though until it was to late) my car went for the ditch and stopped as it hit grass If I was going faster Id not be alive. As I stoped on the edge of a drain and a tree a meter in front of the car. The fella actually said he thought I wasn't alright because I sat in the car for a min or two after out of shock. No seatbelt? Id have been put out through the window. I don't know, just extremely lucky.

Anyway, I don't know, I really think it's the end of this. Just glad I didn't kill anybody.

Sorry I meant that the boot space in the accord wasn't bad. The car itself you know already :)
Anyway tomorrow ill go check out the Passat which after comparing both cars for a while now seems like a much nicer place to be.

A fair point, jut don't want something dug up again in a few months time.

I know personally I'd prefer something to conform there would be no future claims.

FairPlay for organising a decent school tour like that I would of loved to go on something like that in secondary school the best we got was a few days in Cardiff to see Leinster play rugby. I've been on a few plant tours in college they are always interesting no car plants though :(
