Anyone recommend any good places to stop (food wise) along the A55, M56 or even the M6 coming from holyhead in the early hours of the morning ?

McDonalds off roundabout off last roundabout at end of A55 (left turn 3rd exit i think) beside an aldi or lidl i think.

Beyond that no idea, enjoy the scenery though A55 is a nice road.

Just watch out for lunatics undertaking

Dont mean it in a "dem forigners" kind of way, but any time i've sold a car, no matter how cheap, to an eastern european, they tend to be painfully thorough, looking for non oem screws and stuff.

Non oem screws, hah, love it!

I don't expect to see much scenery unfortunately, I'll be driving up from hollyhead while it's dark. The only reason I regret booking the 2am boat over. However I should hopefully avoid a lot of the morning traffic.

Genuine question bear1, was he eastern european?

He was indeed. The funny thing is that I had two more people interested in the car that called this morning which were also foreign.
The lad that bought it is polish.
He was over the top thorough, opening the windows over and over about 5/6 times ip and down up and down. Then the same to the sunroof, the boot via the remote. Turning the ac on and off and on and off.
The wipers, sweet god he poured a bottle of water over the rain sensor to check it worked. Made sure each speaker worked.
    Never ending

Slow. Epsilon over and Ulysses coming back.

Any advice on speed cameras over their ? Are they fixed or do they have vans as well ?

Not too bad on the A roads, tunnels are fairly strict so watch that, they have cameras either side. Motorways have average speed cameras now, not sure of loactions though.

I'm assuming that by average speed cameras you mean they track your time from one point to the next ?

Was on a bus about 3 months ago, haven't been on the DART in about 5 years.

I haven't used a bus in at least 4 years. Train, much, much longer.

Well with the price of parking and all the restrictions in Dublin city centre it would the only reason for me to ever need to use a bus, however I hate going into town, much prefer to do any shopping in Blanchardstown or Liffey Valley where parking in never an issue.

I always mess up on what the fair should be as they change so much while I am not using them.

Same as that. Might as well be the Stig trying to figure out the St. Petersburg Metro. :pac:

I get the Student rates so it's handy out but the price is ridiculous for a normal adult tbh.

I do occasionally use the trolley-bus to go into the city-centre, usually around the Christmas to sink a few ales with old mates, that sort of thing. The man usually gets quite irritable when I go to hand him money, for some reason. You'd nearly think he didn't want customers. :pac:

Got a ****ing puncture. This has brought my need for new tyres to a head. No sane person would repair my old ones, need a good recommendation in Cork, i'm near Ovens, so Ballincollig would probably be best?

There's the two big ones, TyreStop and Ballincollig Tyres in the town, haven't used them but they'd be who I'd go to in your situation.

    Folks

Anyone here registered a car recently as in vrt ?

I want to bring a car from the UK in the next few days but between crap conversion rate/travel expenses/vrt and 3 months tax it will be cutting things very close.

I understand there is a 30 day limit on registering a car for vrt (but it doesn't take into account booking time) so if i park car up for 2 weeks which i want to, before i vrt and tax it and booking is over 3 weeks im screwed.

Car will literally insured driven home, parked for 2 weeks and i will drive my 520i before i go to vrt it.

Anyone been in this situation before ? (Being poor etc) lol
