Kildare should seek permission to enter a combined Kildare Colleges team into the Corn ui Dhuill. Dublin were allowed in the 1990s and I think they have won a few since the turn of the millennium.

I would also like to see a few dedicated hurling coaching officers appointed with the goal of introducing hurling into primary schools in south Kildare. It's the only way that there'll be sufficient underage numbers to help clubs develop hurling in the south of the county.

Great win for Castledermot, it seemed over when Ballycumber got a goal midway through second half to go 5 ahead.

They play Meath's Ratoath (hammered Railyard of Kilkenny today) in the semi final.

Have the Mahons from Castledermot emigrated or are they injured?

Paddy is in Australia and Eugene also away. Team doing very well without two lads as good as they are. Gavin Keating has made up with the frees but still miss them. Will be hard to beat Ratoath up there.

Johnny Doyle will be a selector with Leinster for the Inter-Pro series along with Vinny Claffey. Evan Kelly of Meath is the manager.

Is that on before Christmas? Many Kildare players involved?

It says Leinster Inter-Pro 2015 so I assume it is.

They haven't picked a panel yet, but I'd imagine there'll be a few Kildare lads on it.

So our weekend away options are Longford, Thurles or Mullingar?

Missed out on Ennis, Sligo and Limerick! This is devestating stuff....

Am hearing that the match between Portlaoise and Sarsfields could be called off due to a death in the Porthaoise camp

Portlaoise score a penalty. Penalty taker decides to push over Sarsfields player after, Sash player gets second yellow for nothing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,492 ✭✭✭roy rodgers

All level at half time 1-02 portlaoise 0-05 sarsfields.

    Sarsfields down to 14 men

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,101 ✭✭✭klairondavis

    Leinster SFC:

    Sarsfields 0-5 Portlaoise 1-2 (HT)

Sarsfields: Sean Dempsey (0-2), Dan Nea (0-1), Sean Campbell (0-1), Ray Cahill (0-1, 1 free)

Portlaoise: Craig Rodgers (1-0, 1 pen), Gareth Dillon (0-1), Paul Cahillane (0-1)

Sarsfields will be up against it in the second half just like in the county final. Alan Scully went off with a shoulder injury early on. Sarsfields kicked the first three scores before Portlaoise then kicked 1-2 in the last ten minutes of the half. Their last score was a penalty converted by Craig Rodgers. Steven Lawlor gave away the penalty receiving a yellow card for a foot block. He then got his marching orders after the penalty after Rodgers appeared to barge into him running back after the score which seemed harsh. Sarsfields have kicked the last two scores of the half from Sean Campbell and a Ray Cahill free to level matters.

    Sarsfields 0-7 Portlaoise 2-3 (40 mins)

    Cahillane goal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,101 ✭✭✭klairondavis

Gap down to a point with five minutes left.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,101 ✭✭✭klairondavis

    Level. 0-10 to 2-4.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,101 ✭✭✭klairondavis

    Cahillane point for Portlaoise.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,101 ✭✭✭klairondavis

    Portlaoise 2-5 Sarsfields 0-10

Sarsfields: Ray Cahill (0-5, 5 frees), Sean Dempsey (0-3), Dan Nea (0-1), Sean Campbell (0-1)

Portlaoise: Paul Cahillane (1-2), Craig Rodgers (1-0, 1 pen), Gareth Dillon (0-2), Brian McCormack (0-1)

Heartbreak for Sarsfields. They can probably feel justifiably aggrieved with the red card in the first half. Portlaoise's experience counted in the end.

Another game in an empty Croke Park. Exciting..
