Think Davis is a bit past his best now but could still be useful given Manning loves throwing to his TE. Not sure I see him as a difference maker for the Broncos though but probably an upgrade on Daniels alright.

he will improve he's in a better situation now manning is not as good as he was but he's still better than kap and a guy like davis who can be a big body on short throws could be invaluable given how poor his arm strength has gone.

also i still think davis is a serious player he is not what he was but the guy still has some serious wheels when he needs them

For all this talk of lineout percentage, I am pretty sure I heard during the quarters or semis, one of the ITV commentators mention that NZ had the best percentage on them in the whole tournament with Ireland second, or NZ were second with Ireland first. This continues to make less and less sense.

And how do you reckon New Zealand will do?? SuperBowl

As a Pats fan, before Sunday I wasn't scared of the Broncos...I am now.

I think Belichick would hold Manning under 10 points quite easy to be honest so long as he doesn't get much starting field position, by doing the insane and playing to Peyton's weaknesses (well, insane if your name is Capers). And Gronk in there should cause enough mayhem to put the Pats a little over 20 points.

I would figure the Pats to win that matchup by two scores, if neither team were to pick up significant injuries beforehand.

Yeah I think we can edge that one but before Sunday, I was not worried about the Broncos offense, now I am.

But in saying that they still have only played one game well this season and Manning deteriorated rapidly as the season went on last season, still a long way to go but I'm sitting a little more uncomfortable today than I was Sunday and the Vernon Davis trade doesn't help

Kaep has been benched. What the **** is going on with that team? Absolute shambles right now.

    BLAINE GABBERT... TO THE RESCUE!!

    UnofficialJagWorkout.jpg

Seriously though, this is the biggest single season drop off I can remember since maybe the 2002 vs 2003 Bucs & Raiders.

We already been dealing with significant injuries on the O line and are down to back ups for the back ups. So I'll happily take no more injuries.

probably opening the option for a london franchise also i think white heart lane is just a backup i don't think there has to be games played there

That's amazing, just shows how good Jim Harbaugh was, he was within one qestionable call of winning a Super Bowl with Kaepernick. And for Gabbert, wow, I never thought I'd see him play in the NFL again.

That's true but I think the owner's are still against that plan at the moment, they have to play a minimum of two a season in white heart lane when it opens up,

When is next year's games announced, if chargers are coming ill go to my first game,

I misread it as 3 games a year they were getting but its 3 games over 3 years. With the option of 2 more.

    So based on the deals

So Wembley is 2 games a year til 2020
Twickenham is probably one a year til 2018
Spurs is 2 a year from 2018 on.

One thing that hugely in a NFL London franchises favour is there could be 3 stadiums involved in a bidding war to host them, possibly 4 if Chelsea get their ground build.

It guarantees 5 London games for 2018

    2 at Wembley
    1 at Twickenham
    2 at Spurs

That's over half a season of home games. Getting very interesting

no way it will be all one team though the jags may play two but outside of that it will be different teams

Pity we couldn't have got one in Ireland.

they would go to Germany/France before Ireland surely i can't imagine we will ever see an nfl game in Ireland its to close to London to justify gong to a smaller country nfl fans often have to travel way farther than Ireland to London to get to a game so i can't see them even considering it

of course it's different teams but the question is always will London support 8 games. They're clearly building to answering that question

not to mention we don't have a stadium big and as well appointed as the NFL requires (we have 3/4th of one though)

Also from a purely astethics point of view an NFL field is lost on the huge pitch in Croke Park.

With the big Irish-American population, I think it would capture the imagination a little, and you get Bord Failte or whoever to chip in. I'm not saying it would be a goer every year, but as a one-off, or every few years, I think it would work.

Aviva...it's more about promotion of the game than pure ticket sales. Agree Croke Park isn't well suited.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,049 ✭✭✭✭Dodge

Aviva could hold about 45k for a NFL set up. They'll need more than that IMO

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,166 ✭✭✭Beefy78

The thing is that they don't do these International games as something nice to give to the fans. They do it because they make a lot of people a lot of money and to build interest in the game in an area that they're keen on making more money in. The NFL were apparently very impressed with the MillStad but Cardiff and Wales are not going to make them the same money that London will so it is London that gets two more games.

I'd never get your hopes up about an Irish NFL game happening.

With one of the worst passing QBs in the league throwing to him it's no surprise his production is gone downhill. He'll suit Manning as a good underneath target. Certainly an upgrade for the Broncos.

Davis is also ridiculously quick even still. I agree on his production going down because his QB fell apart rather than Davis going backwards.

Peyton just got a new toy and that Denver defence looks bloody mean.
