Again? Didn't we have this with insignias last year?

That was brake fluid leaks when the cars were being driven. I've always heard of Opels going on fire. A few friends had corsas which went on fire on their driveways, I think they got recalled for that eventually.

Strange one here, was cycling home from work this evening when a stylish looking car approached me that looked like an Aston saloon and had a badge which was very similar to one. As it went past I realised the badge on the back was a HYUNDAI badge. It looked great. 152 reg, anybody any idea what it was.

Opel Ireland said that it wasn't a problem anyway! Think it was power steering fluid leaking into the dpf.

I'm curious as to what the new Tucson is like too. If you look at the leaps in desirability between different generations of Hyundai, it has a lot to live up to.
That said the ix35 isn't dreadful so the job is harder this time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,280 ✭✭✭✭Autosport

See I never drove the ix35 so I can't compare driving but as for looks I like the front end. I'll probably be looking at diesel so I'm sure I'll get slagged :D

    Hi all,
Nothing much here, but seen that my tracking seems to be off a tad on the focus, must get it realigned at the weekend. I spent enough on these tyres, so I'll inspect them keenly and often!

OT, Not motors related, but just heard of it there. Woman (60's) that lives fairly close to us died at the weekend. Very sad and all that. Her son was out monday on a ladder, putting out lights for people calling to the house. He falls off said ladder and dies. Such a freak ordeal! Goes to show how a whole family can get so fcuked up so sudden! Son dies preparing for mothers funeral, so sad. :( Take care folks.

Come with a 5.0 V8 over here and I think they look absolutely class!

It's Dublin. Driving here is always horrific. Trains gone on strike today too which is meant to be chaotic. I'm on the luas now and it seems quieter than yesterday. Maybe Dublin phoned in sick today

Just spotted the train thing. Yeah, Friday before a bank holiday. .. maybe a lotta people just arranging not to be in work today one way or another. Couldn't hack dublin traffic every day. Trying to get in and out of plassey tech park at peak times is enough for me!!

Have to drive here for a week and back down lovely Limerick then. I'll always be on the road with the new job. A quarter of the work day will be spent in traffic. Ugh

There's a higher chance of you doing it at the weekend so I'd say the 13th?

You'll be grateful for the motorway then, imagine doing that without it.

Easy enough to imagine what it was like before there was a motorway - just take a trip on the N20 cattletrack!

Yeah the N7 Limerick to Dublin was a farce before the motorway - one old lad with a horsebox bringing half the country to a crawl.

Especially horseboxes! Farmers with a cattlebox will let you pass, but during the boom there were many upstarts and nouveau riche with horseboxes, usually brand new Discovery, driving at 60 km/h whilst actively blocking people from overtaking. Problem is, you can not entirely prevent people from doing so. So they got chase vehicles, a friend driving at a distance behind them so absolutely no bastard could get past. I remember going from Galway to Ennis and I came upon two such clowns. They both literally tried to run me off the road, swerving, beeping, flashing, gesticulating. They had absolutely no reason to do so, other than they were utter cnuts. Another one near Sligo, windy road, plenty of opportunity to pull over, no, chase vehicle and never stopped. Guy near Ennis, brand new jeep, speeded up to 120 km/h WITH A HORSEBOX to block me getting past, I could go on. Self entitled cnuts!
The biggest cnuts by several country miles on the roads used to be horseboxes. Until the bust happened and the same people would let their horses loose or let them starve to death in a field.
Even thinking about it pisses me off...
    And breathe.

Come to Limerick, nobody else wants to so the traffic isn't bad at all!
