Should cost too much to fix, just pissed at myself.

That is a plan but and expensive plan. Would it bolt straight in though?

No idea but at a guess it would need an ecu, kind of a pick and mix loom, modified mounts and rear subframe/prop mods.

Ah **** man. Did you fry it for long?

Copped it straight away but had to wait a few seconds to pull in! Got to 115 or so.
Let it cool down and put fresh water in slowly with it running.

Needed more in roscrea but never gave out.
Water is not mixing and i have all 6 cylinders so I'm unsure, maybe i got away and have a leak somewhere. .
Power is there, no missing, no mixing!

Yep, doing a a three point turn in a really stupid place too fast, tapped the wall. Not the worst, should only cost about €100 to sort or I'll attempt it myself.

Happened me one time years ago. I was in Galway and was pulling out into a busy road with a bus lane so I was sideways in the bus lane trying to get a opening in traffic, next thing a bus comes along so I reverse back with speed and hit a post for a sign and made shít of my bumper.

But if you're going for a mad look, then get the risers. Is it the same spoiler? So you can play around with the risers on or off?

Unsure if it is, my car came with one of those but I wanted to have no spoiler

Personally I think no spoiler looks best on the E36. Not a fan of the risers :\

Any pros or cons for removing a DPF?

Seems that people that remap cars generally seem to do it aswell in the one go.

Getting an error message "risk of particle filter blocking" on the C5. Hasn't affected the car at all, and from googling apparently it's common and can often be a trivial issue/faulty sensor, but a lot of people talking online just get rid of it and remap. Remapping was already on my mind, anyway, so... anyone ever done it? Any downsides?

EDIT: As an aside, I took the car to the motorway for about 40 minutes of driving in 3rd gear at 100km/h (4,000rpm - the redline starts at 4,500 and the max is 6,000). I'm not too clued into DPFs or such but lead to believe that driving at high RPM for an extended period (over 15-20 mins) heats the DPF and causes it to burn out the soot that's in there?

Sorry to hear about your troubles, Yb and Foxhole. :(

Why must bad things happen to nice cars!?

Looks like somebody's **** in the passenger seat.

Edit: That must have been pulled out of a lake or something.

Up to your personal principles really. You can produce more nox and particulates with no repurcussions thanks to clueless "green" policy. Why not do it. I probably produce less actual pollutants (but slightly more plant food) in my petrol but would pay twice as much tax for equivalent torque. Yaaaay John Gormley!!!!!!!!!!

Did you check if there is any Elloys fluid in it that's what that warning is probably about you need to top it up immediately if it's empty can't regenerate otherwise no matter how hard you drive it.

As for getting rid of the dpf I wouldn't as they will be tested for in a few years in nct and I wouldn't butcher my car which cutting a dpf out of it is as butchery as it gets but that's just me your car your choice I suppose.

I'm going down into Douglas Village - traffic jam a go-go - shortly with a 3l V6 on cold-enrichment and a shot of two-stroke in the tank. Soon all of them will know God's Farts, hi, oh yes!! :D

Ordered a timing belt kit and crankshaft seal for the XC90. First time doing these, let's hope it goes well :pac:

Well, generally speaking, i wouldn't be keen on getting rid of DPF, at the same time, if I can get rid of it and avoid any headaches with it, then it might be the more economical option.

Not entirely sure why it's decided to give me the error, though. It's just after coming off a week where it did about 2,500km, a lot of town/dublin driving, but also a fair whack of R and N roads and a couple of 20 minute motorway spins (Drogheda to Leitrim to Westmeath to Kildare, to Dublin to Dundalk, etc. long spins).

I'd have thought a DPF would love that.

Maybe it is to do with the Elloys (eolys?) fluid. I'll bring it over to mechanic and get him to take a look. Whatever about checking oil or brake fluid, I wouldn't have a notion where or how to check for that!?

    (rambles off to Google...)

EDIT: First thing Google showed was a car on a ramp. I'll leave it to the mechanic! :o

Anyone know any sites or places good to look for boot lip spoilers?

Plenty on eBay but don't trust them.

Why not? eBay is safe for buyers, it's worse for sellers as the resolution centre thing favours the buyer almost every time and refunds/returns are not a problem

Marty buy from a guy with a good rating and your safe as a house.
I have been done once buy a buyer in 100+ transactions.
EBay buyer protection got me my money instantly.

I've heard a few times when you buy parts off eBay a lot of them don't quite fit properly.

Maybe you're right I should just trust buyer ratings.

That can be the case with most spurious parts.

Generally it's not a problem though. Just buy from someone with decent ratings.
