Did they bring engineers also or are they using guys from the MRO's based there?

I'd imagine they would have to fly in guys, Neither of the MRO's in Shannon work on MD11's so I'd say there wouldnt be many engineers with it on their licence!

Would that UPS 747 have to wait around to bring old engine back or is gone from Shannon already??

Maybe there's available aircraft at LHR to get passengers to ORD more quickly than an overnight hotel bill in DUB?

wonder how this works with pre-clearance and immigration if they need to get off and go into the terminal.

Looks like it spent about 4 hours at LHR and then departed at 14:30, same aircraft.

    Any idea what happened?

Preclearance is gone if they enter the terminal at LHR.
