What does "Ground Vehicle" mean at Dublin airport ,just seen a couple listed there a few mins ago.
Ground Vehicle, can mean any type of vechicle accessing the airfield.

This can range from repair crews carrying out day to day maintanence. Airport Police carrying out security checks and performing drills. Rescue Vehicles performing readiness checks and drills. Personnel assigned to warding off birds. Vechicles performing runway skid checks and debris checks.

For example, I flew into DUB on Thursday afternoon and saw at least 8 vehicles carrying out repairs on RWY 16/34 in the general area between H1/H2 and P1/P2.

If you go out to DUB or any airport for that matter and take a look at what is happening you will see constant activity by vechicles performing the most mundane activities.

However you can rest assured that if there is ever a "real situation", that the Rescue Crews have all been trained and are continually drilled in meeting these challenges on an ongoing basis!

They pop up sporadically onFR24. They're always on marine traffic.

Sligo Based heli 118 currently heading to Dublin and showing on FR24. ATC telling other aircraft they may have to around.

They only seem to have their transponders that FR24 works off turned on when near airports.

A Jet2 757 from Manchester to Larnaca return to Man. Something must have happened on takeoff. Went to a hold over Blackburn now on approach back to airport.

Yeah, they squawk when they have to land at airports as part of their communication with approach/tower.

For marine traffic, as the coast guard heli's are mainly for marine rescue, they also broadcast an AIS signal so ships can see where the are.

If I see Rescue 116 I would immediately look at marine traffic (or other AIS app) to see where it is going. FR won't give me that info.

Something very noisy just passed over head me here in mid Tipp but it was too cloudy to see anything, were on a flight path into Shannon and they usually pass over me at about 10-12k feet. Nothing on flightrader, anything unusual just about to land or has taken off?

Modi will be travelling to Ireland and the US during 23-29 September. The visit to Ireland on 23 September will be the first for an Indian prime minister in 60 years. Modi will be holding talks with Taoiseach (prime minister) Enda Kenny. "We hope to further develop strong people-to-people and economic ties with Ireland in the years to come. In Ireland, I will also interact with the Indian community,"

I believe that they use a standard Air India aircraft.

its an Air India, but nothing standard about it! its not far off the same specs as what Obama gets into!

While there are artist impressions of the interior, a Wiki reference says that its used in standard air india commercial services. I would be incredibly impressed if it has a quick fit VVIP interior.
At present, the 747s are deployed for commercial operations by AI when not in use for VVIP flights.

I know it might sound like hair splitting, but its only the Indian Prime minister.

Nice way to travel, 747-400 all to himself. I won't even raise an eyebrow ever again when our lot use the Learjet. :)
