Take the roof off above the area you want to put the fab in to, place and Fab, replace the roof. You have a fab inside a 1 wall high room.

Gots me a bronto so should be fun when I get a saddle for it.

On a bad note, I was reading one of the ark digests about the swamp and snow biomes and my base is smack in the middle of the swamp biome on the beach, so could end up being destroyed. Hopefully it won't as I've just finished raising my wall up and that took a while.

Laviski maybe you could confirm if it will or not, I'm around 53/83 on the map.

That'd be disappointing. I had thought that the new biomes would have been extensions to the island/new islands off the coast, rather than just replacing parts of it.

I know I'd be quite annoyed if it did end up doing that. Apart from the base, I have a serious amount of stuff inside it from the supply drops and mountain raids.

They're turning the horseshoe area where I am and all the river just north of yours into swamp land on the middle of the map.

Top left corner will be the main snowy area.

Be interesting if they wipe for the Snow biomes. I'll be in big trouble. Myself and another have the biggest dino farm on the server atm which would end up on the edge of a snow dome. Not to mention a rather large metal base :P

I don't think it'll happen though. They originally said it's a purely cosmetic change. May come across some unforeseen reason to do a wipe though.
On a bit of a break from it for the moment anyway as it has become a bit like a farming simulator for me now. I just log in every few days to refresh timers and top up the generator.
Will see next week after patch cause if they release this Friday, you can be sure the servers will be down for hours. Always happens with new big updates. (officials at least)

Build a few Storage Units on a Stone foundation, you can always turn it into small outpost after all this has blown over

The Game is alpha and the guys in ATS are dreading wipes. If Gaellords ARK community is strong enough we can keep this going for a while yet. I would hate to start over again. I hope that when **** goes wrong, the players/admins can help each other out

i literally just started over a few days ago >_< i dont think i can handle building from scratch again so soon ugh. i think the area im in then is getting swampified as im just up past the big boss area north of taz.

what i have read is:

Any structure that is going to be into the solid geometry terrain modification Will be destroyed so some base may miss part of it

for private servers wipe is optional. Unless its game breaking and structure wipe is needed.

I don't believe this is the case here.

yea you can press k for orbit cam but you cant walk around and do things, you can just walk back and forward like a weirdo.

I use it for keeping a eye around me while waiting on a tame. Or in the early days for strafe clearing berry bushes/picking stones.

I'll load up the pets tonight and move them all down a bit south, see what happens. If Laviski is right then I should actually be ok but I'll pack up all supplies anyway just in case.

I was asking about ramps on the game the other day, was told you just build them and that's all groovy but when I do it seems to go through the floor and blocks the level under it.

Yeh ramps seem to be a bit more than 1 wall long. Could just use the sloped roof tile instead.

Hopefully mine will still be there when I finish this download. If it is I'll move it down a few hundred metres out of the swamp area. Shouldn't take too long to rebuild all going well.

Oh wow. Can quite literally see where the "brush" swept through with the swamp overlay done near my base location. There was a massive abandoned based with 2 bridges, base, wall and half of one bridge one. Perfect line of where the new stuff is, old stuff remains. Guess I have to wait out the last 7 days of the timer to remove the other few bits.

Lost everything on update. Full metal base destroyed. Full dino farm destroyed. Two stone / wooden bases destroyed. One dino trap destroyed. I love this update... :P

Literally spawned into nothing. Metal base had around 1k eggs in it and a tonne of BPs etc... hah.

Least most of my dinos are alive. MOST....
