Some of the Dublin substitutions were strange enough I thought. The Johnny Cooper one was made before the match I'd say and Jack McCaffrey must have been injured or why did he take him off?

He was supposed to marking Darren O'Sullivan who was having more and more of an impact. Preceding play he broke through the centre and flashed a goal chance (half chance really) wide. Small came on and snuffed him out. Ruthless but effective management.

Dublin were certainly not the best team last year.
    3rd or 4th at best.

Christ. Stick to the soccer mate.

McCarthy was marking Darran O'Sullivan early in the second half. I had not realised they swapped. O'Sullivan done alright when he came alright. Probably the best of the Kerry substitutes.

    We did it lads!

After the first Mayo game I was a bit let down with our overly cynical approach.

The replay and today(yes we were defensive but we were fair and did it right) have alleviated that feeling.

James McCarthy for motm imo. He was ****ing class. That take at the end out of the air summed up his effort. COS was fantastic too.

    COYBIB :)

Thrilled for the lads today, a long hard winter and spring paid off, The look of joy on their faces was a sight to behold. So happy for Alan Brogan in his last game to get a winners medal.

Unreal day and what a performance. Thought our halfbacks and half-forwards were brilliant. Kilkenny has very a compossed head for such a young player.

Fenton was outstanding as well and against probably the best midfield in the country he really shone.

Can't wait for Sam to do the rounds with the team now. Unlike when Kerry win, they're a bit like the dwarfs in lord of the rings. Back on to the bus and into the mountain with the silver for another year!!

"Well, yeah, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man"

    I
Jack Mc was as sick as a dog all week, was on a drip for 24 hours and was a huge doubt beforehand

Yeah watching the highlights he was definitely marking him. O'Sullivan lost him pretty easily more than once.

Credit to Gavin and Dublin management for what they got right though - the match-ups. In my opinion of the 14 outfield positions, Dublin won 12 of the personnel duels. I thought Bernard Brogan struggled a bit of Enright although he gave away a needless free to Brogan at the end. Aidan O'Mahony was very solid on Rock/McMenamin and was the only Kerry player to really dominate his direct opponent(s). Darran O'Sullivan was alright when he came on.

It's hard to defend McMahon. He looks to me like he has a bad streak in him and you can judge each incident how you like but in the last 3 games, he's been accused of headbutting, diving and eye-gouging. Some might add sledging in too. He's had a great year and performed the role of auxiliary forward exceptionally well while also getting the better of the likes of Aidan O'Shea and Colm Cooper in one-to-one duels.

Cork man here so couldnt shout for any team today but Well done to Dublin better team won on the day and best team there at the moment..semi replay stood to them big time. just on your last comment there on mcmahon, to be honest it's not hard to defend mcmahon it's down right impossible. Blatant attempt to eye gouge another player and other incidents show him to be thug to be honest. Plenty stuff goes on off the ball and on it with regards belts and shoulders thrown in every match but that kind of stuff has no place in the game. Something like that caught on camera if not dealt with by ref should be dealt with by gaa with suspensions handed out. Only way to cut it out.

    Thrilled for Fenton.

22 years old, first year playing Senior for the Dubs, MOTM award in a winning All Ireland.

    Easy this game, isn't it.

I just opened a 18 year bottle of scotch that I bought on the way home from my stag. It wasn't cheap. But it tastes sensational.

Thank you Dublin. What a day.

Well done Dublin. Awesome team and 3 all Ireland's in 5 years is a remarkable achievement. Who was thought after 2009 quarter against Kerry that Dublin would bounce back and beat Kerry three times in a row. Dublin are now the new bogey team for Kerry.

I also think that Fitzmaurice made a big mistake keeping Galvin, Donaghy, Walsh, O'Se, O'Mahony in the squad. They are no longer good enough and the message that is sent is that the players coming up behind are not good enough either.

To be honest I think he was going for a bit of voodoo, trying to create a savage bench, many bought it but he must have known some of the lads were not up to it.
When Galvin came on for Moran I was delighted. TBH I always liked Galvin a super player in his day, sad to see him coming on today and being so ineffective, I was wondering was he simply brought in to justify his place on the bench, no sign of Walsh either another guy who was "flying in training"

My thoughts were that Kerry were exaggeration their position. The media bought it, I think it was a reasonable ploy but it didn't work.

The dogs in the street knew Gooch was struggling this year.

Some big hurt egos there now. I think some will go for good, but some will come back stronger.

I thought it was a well contested game. Our options up front stretched them at the back.
We were lucky that so few Kerry lads had good games, not taking from our display.
Fenton lived up to it, I had big hopes he would, Bastic was very good too and continues to perform well against top opposition while retaining a general reputation as being an average player. Long may it contine he set up a goal in 2013 and nearly two today.

Good second half by Flynn. Two points , won a few of kerrys kickouts.

Three good games in a row for Andrews.

I hope Alan Brogan hangs in there

Cooper seemed to injure his leg again just before he was subbed. It's troubled him.

Well footage clears him of headbutting , fair point in the other accusations

Great win, nearly everyone won their individual battles, but still we relied on Kerry missing a host of chances to stay ahead. They really let us off the hook for average finishing of point and especially goal chances.

Connolly and Flynn pretty much came good, especially in picking up dirty ball and distribution. The half back to half forward lines controlled large parts of the game. With the midfield coming out on top having been written off across all the media.

Cluxton had a poor enough game by his standards, but again he was written off by the press and even with a poor game Dublin kick outs were much better than Kerry's.

Fenton has been the find of the year, Kilkenny has grown in to a vital player in first year back. MDMA started to come good in last two games.

Be good if Cluxton, Bastick and Brogan keep going, especially as the game is more and more a squad game. Mannion back next year, after great 7s performance this weekend. Costello starting to come good, O'Gara to come back and maybe his brother also after injury. Rock to grow into a more all around player as he has done over last 3 years.

Need to find a bit more depth in midfield still, but generally it's hopeful for next year.

Yeah it was Cian O'Sullivan who was looking after him but needed to get back to being a sweeper no? Then they switched, McCarthy was never marking Darren, or am I wrong.

Flynn had a good second half.

I see more articles about the brogans matching their fathers three titles.

I thought Alan missed 2013, on the panel but no medal

Also I'm fairly sure senior only has two, so junior is the only one with three ??

    Bernard Sr has 3.

    Bernard Jr has 3.

Alan also has 3. He didn't feature in any of the actual games in 2013, but he was a part of the panel, so he got a medal.

Sr just has the 2 and he won them in 76 and 77.
