Don't mind map feedback on that same thread

Feedback would definitely be good, but could make it tricky to find the codes in thread?
Maybe if people PM me to add them to the first post?
Don't really buy discs these days, but was considering retail. Does anyone know if release on eshop will be at midnight tonight?

Not been on to buy anything at release in a while, but didn't it used to be around 11pm (midnight German time)?

Looks like the daily unlock cycle has been changed to every 15 minutes: http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/41135/super-mario-maker-update-changes-unlock-system

It was a silly system and restriction to begin with in the first place. IGN said there was an easy work around but wouldn't say on their video in case Nintendo got on their back. I would guess it's just a matter of changing the date on the clock in the menu settings.

My copy arrived from the game collection, had a brief flick through the art-book and it's better than I expected (far better than the Wii Mario anniversary booklet)

Now I just have to wait until this evening to play...

What time on Tuesday did you get the confirmation e-mail from thegamecollection and do you live in Ireland?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,943 ✭✭✭Machismo Fan

Yeah, the fix is just to move the clock ahead to the next day. I get the logic behind the staggered delivery of the tools but nine days was too long. They probably figured most people would use the work around anyway and just changed it.

Downloading now. The patch was auto-queued too.

Damn, still no sign of it on the Argos site, and I need to go to bed!

I'm sitting here on nights in work refreshing like a so-and-so trying to get Argos to update their website but no joy!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,223 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

Still nothing happening on the Argos website. I think it could be 6a.m. when it goes live. Looking round more, Smyths haven't budged from their original prices. And as for Gamestop, I'd genuinely feel bad for anybody that gives them money. €60 for the normal pack which is bad enough but an eye watering €80 for the amiibo bundle. That is scandalous. How is Nintendo ever going to get back in the consciousness of players with gougers like them in business? And they're supposed to be the frontline of game retail in Ireland.

The prices in GameStop are a sin!

Smyths Dundalk told me today they wouldn't be getting a delivery until Saturday? She did say they have the Wii U bundle but not the game or the Amiibo edition which is very strange. Might just ring them again in the morning.

Still not on the Argos website. Will check in a few minutes just after 6.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,223 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

It's up now. €49.99 for just the game and artbook. Still that's the best retail price in Ireland.

They don't have the amiibo bundle though.

Edit: They changed the link already. The original was too long and messy.

The Super Mario Maker Wii U console, game plus amiibo bundle is also up. It's €313.

Again so much better than Smyths price of €350. I wonder will that make them change their prices? Nah!

Edit: And of course Gamestop being the dirty f***s that they are are charging €370. Reduced from €400 so people are getting a bargain.

Had a look at the Argos stock checker for the console bundle. There's only 1 available for each store so if you're interested, act fact.

Had a look at the stock checker for the game but it's not working and if you try to buy or reserve on the main site, it says it's available on Monday or Tuesday for collection. Maybe they haven't got delivery of it yet.

30 consoles available in stores around the country(2 in Liffey Valley). Will be curious and keep an eye on it to see if they sell out.

Edit: Some Argos stores won't have the game until Wednesday.

    Did anyone preorder from Smyths?
They normally take money the day before but they didn't for me anyway nor did I get an email.

It could be that a Nintendo shipment to Ireland was delayed because Argos like Smyths have the SMM console bundle but not the game. I'd be peeved if I had a Smyths preorder and it's not there today.

I have every finger and toe crossed that this arrives in the post today. If it doesn't I'll be in the biggest ripper all weekend.

    Good old argos

It applies to every Irish retailer. Argos at least are the cheapest out of the lot. A few years ago that was never the case. Shows how much the others have slipped.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,011 ✭✭✭GhostInTheRuins

Looks like every argos shop within a reasonable distance is sold out already according to their website. Smyths also gives me a no stock but I'm not sure if their site is accurate. I'll try Smyths on my lunch break and if no luck I'll probably just buy it on the eshop.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,011 ✭✭✭GhostInTheRuins

Feck it, sure it's €19 cheaper on the eshop than smyths, so I'll just buy it there.

    Too late!

I know I'll look at the book once and never again so I'm not really bothered.
