    RK can't pass though :pac:

Unless you mean DK who's awesome :D

Dave played 10 in school. If you can play 10 for CWC you can do it for Ireland.

Not a runner. It would be bergamasque.

Yes. WTF is going on ? Why have the details not leaked out. This is where those bananas twitter handles should be coming in useful.

I would think it's more that of Sexton gets a mild injury before the week of the Italy game do we

    a) do nothing and have only 1 outhalf for the Italy game
    b) call up a replacement and rule a player out of the squad for the rest of the tournament
    c) make Sexton a part of the 23 and risk him straining the injury further

I can't see Schmidt only going with 2 outhalves, especially after his comment s on speciality players (hookers, scrum halves etc) at the team announcement for the Wales game.

It's not really believable, if we had another player in another position that could play out-half at test level then we could maybe consider it, but Murray or anyone else would only be asking for trouble, would be like putting Peter O'Mahony on the wing again in that disastrous match against Italy a few years ago.
Remember Mauro Bergamasco at Scrum half a few years ago, that's the type of chaos we'd be risking.
    Never gonna happen.

Wat game did murray fill on at 10 for the final 5 or so minutes? Was it the france game in feb?

Ok, if an emergency during a match maybe as last resort, but never by design, would be the craziest choice to go with 2 outhalves when PJ is perfectly capable of stepping in.

What is the logic behind the idea? Is it to bring a 6th prop?

If it is true then that is the only really logical reason for the gamble because it is where the injury issues are.

Was just looking deeper into the hypothesis/rumour

Yes. Or at least, bringing Healy even though he isnt fit, but on the expectation/gamble that he will be fit later in the tournament.
Its a valid ploy to explore. Nobody here (maybe anywhere) really knows what Healy's chances are.

Just finished watching the game again. If the training reports are true, combined with yesterday, DK is on the plane. He really bossed his wing and took control of things, popping up in midfield and dominating in the air (he had the best couple of catches of any player on the field). I think he might even be in the mix for the 23.

I think Earls and Fitz are in a direct shoot out for a spot. Both are more talented and better players than a number of guys who will travel but I'm not really sure they both will.

Before yesterday, I'd have said Earls is on the plane. Now, it's a little bit up in the air. On watching the match few times, he had a bit of a nightmare yesterday. Fitzgerald was dull as dishwater but did everything very calmly and solidly without ever being noticeable on first watch.

I'd say Schmidt has watched the game forensically since, examining everyone's individual performance. I'm not sure who is going to go anymore.

Or he could want to bring two of Earls, Fitz and Jones.

Didn't happen in either of the last 2 6 Nations. Unless it happened in the Autumn during an injury crisis mid-match sometime? Vaguely remember it happening sometime alright though.

That would mean two of Zebo, Trimble and DK miss out which I don't see happening.

    Not if Jackson isn't going?

    Or have I miscounted?

Ah, I wasn't taking the PJ rumour seriously after bilston cast aspersions over the source!

Don't think so, he probably already will be bringing 2 of that trio. More likely D Kearney or one of that trio are next in line IMO.

The guy who posted it isn't a regular poster anyway, or even an in-the-know.

The reason I have my doubts is that he has 14 posts and his first post several months ago was something along the lines of "I don't rate Jackson"...

The rest of his posts haven't been controversial though so he may know what he's talking about.

Reckon the Jackson rumour's a load of rhubarb tbh...mmmm could go for some crumble right now

Wouldn't be shocked if Bowe missed out, think he has been in a fairly poor run of form and doesn't cover across the back line as well as the other contenders.

Brian O'Driscoll has published his opinion on what the squad might be:

(I seperated it out a little so take no notice of who is on which line)
    Backs :

Rob Kearney, Simon Zebo, Luke Fitzgerald, Tommy Bowe, Dave Kearney,
Keith Earls, Jared Payne, Robbie Henshaw,
Ian Madigan, Paddy Jackson, Johnny Sexton,
Conor Murray, Eoin Reddan, Isaac Boss.

    Forwards :

Jack McGrath, Cian Healy, Dave Kilcoyne,
    Mike Ross, Nathan White,
Rory Best, Sean Cronin, Richardt Strauss,
Devin Toner, Paul O’Connell, Donncha Ryan, Iain Henderson,
Peter O’Mahoney, Sean O’Brien, Jordi Murphy, Chris Henry, Jamie Heaslip

No Felix Jones, no Martin Moore, no Michael Bent, just 2 tightheads there. Interesting.

I don't see it. If Bowe was under pressure he would have been given every chance to prove otherwise and would have played more than one game so far.

Was looking at that yesterday. Only 2 THs doesn't make much sense. Either we take 5 props, one of whom is Bent, or we take 6.

Everyone was told they aren't going, we're bringing the Toulon squad on loan and none of the Irish lads want to admit it ;)
