That's awful tempting. Wonder how much it'd need to get an NCT on her?

I'm not sure if I'm asking in the correct place but anyway.

I've a 2004 Saab 95t 2l approx 150k miles, nct 03/16 loads of service history and in good general condition. 5th gear has stopped working and I've bought something else. I wish to sell it but I've no idea what it's worth or if to sell for parts.

Could any body tell me a ball park figure I should be looking for?

What do you mean by 5th is not working? Is it popping out of gear? We had a similar issue with our car and the issue was fixed for less than €300. On our car they didn't even need to remove the gearbox to fix the issue (they just removed the cover on the gearbox and 5th gear was right there).

Might be worthwhile to fix it and then sell it ;)

Make sure you bring the car to gearbox specialists and not a mechanic though as they would roughly know what needs to be done. Mechanics generally just rip the gearbox out, charge you for the removal and send it off to a specialist. I used Active Transmissions in Greenogue Industrial Estate, Co. Dublin.

Yes popping out of 5th is what it was for a day or two then totally stopped going into fifth. I'll try the gearbox centre, thanks.

Hope it's okay to post this here, my old daily driver, needs a clutch but might suit someone here that has access to a ramp / pit to let them tackle the job themselves. The clutch kits aren't pricey but the labour cost is making it prohibitive for me to get her back on the road.

Dropping the sub frame makes it a difficult enough job on those . Does it use much oil?

Dropping the subframe isnt really a big deal on them it sounds worse than it actually is.
I would have a subframe down in fifteen minutes but im used to them.
You would do a clutch in one of those in about four hours.

If I was able to do the job myself, she'd still be my daily driver tbh. As it is, I've picked up something else (two something elses as it happens - a bangernomics civic and a 9-3 that I was just handed the keys to on Saturday) so I just want rid at this stage. If someone with the ability to bung in a new clutch in an afternoon can keep her on the road as a cheap fixerupper or sell it on and make a few quid off of it, fair play to them!

Might not need a thing but no tax or test. Getting rare now.

That mondeo only came in 2.0 and 2.2 diesel two variations of the 2.0 a 115 bhp and a 130 bhp.
The 2.2 was a 155 bhp both the same basic engine just different bore sizes and injectors.

The 1.8 lynx came along in the mk 4 mondeo.

this is one of my modern classics, currently using it as a spare runaround while gttdi is getting a new engine, but i love it! it's only a 1.1 carb petrol with 4 speed tranny but it is somewhat fun to drive! i know, how, it's so slow! it's the experience, the smell of unburned petrol when flooring it and windy windows that bring a nostalgic feel to it!

I've seen this car up for sale on Facebook a few times now. I would have bought it if only I could get insured on something like that

yea was for sale for a while, i found it strange as can is in showroom condition, with brand new tyres and 10 months nct i payed 600e for it! don't know why, as you see Fiestas and Starlets going for 1.5 k - 3 k?!

It's a lot cooler than an old Starlet too (even though I like my Toyotas) because you don't see any on the roads anymore :)

Lack of power steering and leccie windows goes against this, also non metallic (cheapskate!) But fixed up you'd sell it for €1400 all day.

Would you get 1400 for this , Even with the new over 15 year old insurance problems for first timers ?

You'd be eaten alive for any half clean Yaris.

What insurance companies are quoting NEW drivers on over 15 year old cars now ?

I know that not all are refusing. Point is, there is as much demand as ever for these.
