I see your point, but i'm really only interested in it because it's essentially free :P

I won't be home until tomorrow evening but if it starts with a jump and he takes €250 I reckon i'l have it.

As I said, no immediate plans to drive it or anything, just put it next to the starlet and tip away at it.

One owner and service history. Would be worth a look at €300

I strongly think you should have been a sales rep in the '90's and had a Primera diesel! Mad for them so you are!

I also strongly reckon in 10 years you'll be going mental for an Insignia diesel. :)

I'd say that's another victim of the broken crankshaft.

Second hand engines are rare and expensive for those.

Do they all break cranks? Is there a common cause or is it just a trait of this motor?

It's a known weakness of that particular engine, Subaru fixed the fault mid 2010.

So sold the primera this evening. Made about 15 euro on it after what I spent on parts and the car ect. ect. was added up.

I didn't buy it with the intention of making money. But if buying something again I'd like to make something on it, while learning at the same time. i'm thinking most people looking to buy a cheap car (under 1000 euro) are youngsters. So 1.4 engine is prob. the max they can insure.

Thoughts on this as something to mess around with?

The intention being to put it through the nct and sell it on.

Need to be carefull with those they can tend to burn oil or thrust washers wear.

Glad to hear it nd. Shame you didn't make a whole lot but anything is better than a loss and there is a great sense of satisfaction to be got in fixing old cars and sending them through for an NCT imo.

The Mk1 Focus from my own experience has always been a hard enough sell so as above, give it a good look over if you decide to

strongly thinking of going to look at this. apart from the usual car stuff, are these known for anything in particular. would probably only be buying it to park up for the time being, but owning an Alfa is apparently on every enthusiasts to-do list and you'd never get into one much cheaper than that.
As the NCT expired on the 19th August 2014, am I to assume that it has been sitting there since? Wonder why he didn't sell it sooner.

    Fair play nd.

While you didn't make a pile of money you should definitely take satisfaction of taking a car (that potentially was destined) for the scrap yard and putting it back on the road for someone else to play bangernomics!

Might be a nice car for someone.

    2004 Volvo S80 T6
    2.9 6-cyl twin turbo @ 268 hp
    Looks like very good spec
    Full Volvo service history
    NCT until June 2016

    Only €550

    Needs turbo replaced apparently though.

The age may be problematic. '99 means when you sell it it'll be 17 years old. Younger drivers especially may find that this makes insurance harder or more expensive to sort out.

Guareteed future classic, you'll never buy one cheaper than that. I doubt there's any test but it looks fairly intact.

    NCT is up since 28/07/2011

Nice little car though, would love a 106 GTI.

I believe the time has come for me to part with my Punto. I've had it since 17th June and since then I have done 8k miles (12.8k kms) with it since then. The engine and battery are fantastic, it always started the first turn on the key and has never made any strange noises. I did an oil and filter change about 5k miles ago. It gets 45-50 MPG easily while driving at 100 km/h.

    22574523968_bf697dd299_b.jpg

It was imported from UK in December 2008 and has had 2 previous owners in Ireland before me. Here is some information of it's British identity: http://i.imgur.com/wn4bTgE.png

Despite its size, it is a very practical car. After folding down the rear seats, I was able to put a mountain bike in the back of it removing a wheel, a boot lid from a Volkswagen Vento, 48" TV and other things.

    18330685573_9ec0b4faaf_c.jpg

It still has NCT until 12-12-15 but recently failed. I could tell you all it needs is a tyre and it will fly through, but I'd rather be honest and tell you that it needs rust repair on the underside (floor panels, door sills) to pass the NCT. Front tyres have lots of tread but the rear ones may need replacing - depending on what you want to use this car for.

This car has had a happy life, and if you buy it, you will have a car with true character.
Here is a YouTube screenshot of it in Latvian news. It is parked outside the only inline hockey rink in south Ireland.

Here is an onboard screenshot of the Punto doing laps in Mondello race track.

I will give the buyer some parts along with the car, such as tail lights, headlights, exhaust back box with dual tips and a few other bits. If there's anything else about the car you'd like to know, just ask. I decided to put in Boards first in hopes that it goes to a good home. Looking for €150 or near offer.

Thank you for your time to read this post. :)

Keep it as a Mondello track day beast! It's not worth selling it for €150 :pac:

    Such beast. :P

Maybe I can put some Ford badges on it and sneak it into a Fiesta race. :pac:

this looks lovely - no mention of test so i guess it has none, but small money and very clean with leather.

i suppose unless its crippled with rust i would think it can be a real possibility

In the last photo I think I see a bit of yellow so it may be a UK car. I always thought they were worth more than that!

All that work done to the engine - ruined by an over tensioned belt...:(

Not sure what I would realistically offer for this, but I've seen it and it is nice...

I know,- thats why it has me interested. But my Stilo is refusing to die ( still going amazballs, I absolutely love it) so cant really justify thinking too much about changing it. Thought I'd stick it up here for someone who might be interested. I have a feeling there is value in there for someone.

I'm currently driving a diesel Jag (I know). That legacy, depending on what is wrong with it could be a good bargain.

That said no interior pics and not very solid on how bad it is, could be a write off!
