Went up the town earlier for a look. The place was fookin mental guards and army bomb disposal all over the place. Declared a hoax was a letter containing white powder and a threatening letter.

Why is it always a letter with white powder? Every 'bomb threat' in relation to Minister's/TD's etc.. contains this magical 'white powder'!

Plus, why would the bomb squad be called in if it was just a letter and some 'white powder'?

Me thinks Mr.Kelly is looking for a bit of much needed attention

White powder sounds like a chemical weapon attack. Water protesters have wmd's now.

"Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable"

I wish Labour and Fine Gael would just call a general election. Most of us are just tired of it all now.

The bomb threats were very immature though.

Giving someone a wedgie is immature, a bomb threat is an act of terrorism.

And the Minister was not even there.... and would they not be better calling the Fire brigade for Chemicals ?

But is it really a bomb threat, there was no bomb just this magic white powder that ministers that are in a bit of bother get.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Kelly did it himself. Every time there government are in trouble or there is a big protest there is always a bomb scare or some other spurious threat and nothing is ever heard off again after it.

Who would you elect to replace them?

    Fianna Fáil?
Never again should they be trusted in government.

    Sinn Féin?
A party that has no legitimate policies or strategies besides oppose the government.

    The Anti-Austerity Alliance?
A complete joke of a party that has already said it wouldn't try to scrap Irish Water which is one of the biggest austerity measures put in place to date.

I'll probably vote independent. But you're right - we don't have many options. All I know is I've never deplored a government more than this one. I'd vote FF in a heartbeat over either FG of Labour if I had no other options.

For the first time in my life, I am thinking of voting for FF. I can't believe that I just typed that.

But this current crowd of shysters have made FF look like an alternative.

    :(

It's a tough truth. We are a politically dysfunctional country.

It's very convenient that this has happened the day before the major water protest in Dublin. I can only imagine the slant that will be spewed out on the RTE news trying to taint the protests tomorrow. They are desperate to reduce the numbers on these protests so I wouldn't put it past them using every trick in the book.

I wonder which one of kelly's mates posted it?
The contempt these dickheads show for the electorate is astounding.

Maybe it was just Pollyfiller to shore up all the cracks in the coalition's arguments.

If so, whoever sent it should send more.

    A lot more.

Maybe it was pixie dust for the old money tree they have been using to fund IW. You know as we don't have any money and that's why we are being asked to pay.

May be, but they might mind you insinuating a mentally retarded young man commited a crime. Nevermind, you're on the internet, who will ever know!

I'll let you get back to your pitchfork and torch!

the rest of the water protest movement don't seem to mind his "issues"

Why don't they ever publish the letters btw ? Are they like them ones from the 70s-80s films made up from cutting words out of magazines and papers ?

Wouldn't surprise me if it was IW or government supporters sending these packages. They always seem to show up at opportune times, leading up to protests etc. Quite useful for anyone who might want to tarnish the 'anti' side
