I'm convinced that the sob stories have replaced Gay interviewing a shed load of farmers daughters. He'd ask them how big....nudge, nudge, wink, wink....their fathers farm was. The standard answer was always "big enough, Gay, big enough." Cue giggles from the audience at the cute farmers daughter giving nothing away to the blow in Dub.

I miss those days. All these career girls off away in Dubai and Melbourne for the craic like, can feck off. Why about poor old daddy back on the farm, the farm that he had no idea how big it was. The poor bastard ! :o

Funny but hopefully not (too) true!

Maria was some Rose of Tralee. I respect the RoT so much more now after watching Maria's reign.

other than campaigning for the yes side on the marriage referendum, what did she actually do compared to other winners?

Would a few nights in Tralee during the festival cost more than a few nights in Galway during the races?...I'm trying to plan next summer.

I just liked her spirit. I never tired of seeing her being interviewed. She also seemed to do a huge amount of events and seemed very gracious. I've seen random pics on fb of her meeting different people. She really seemed to make an effort

Trust me its a struggle to get a well known Villa player nowadays. Long gone are the days of Given, Staunton, Mcgrath, Townsend and Houghton
