Ref giving kerry a few handy ones.

Kerry were finding it all a bit too easy, trying to create the perfect goal, now Kildare have kicked a few points they need to cop on a little

    Kerry shooting accuracy is unreal.

Kerry's ability to get a free is incredible

They're also very good as reading which foot an opponent will kick off

Steven O'Brien is all over the pitch and causing Kildare awful issues

Kerry finishing has been ruthless for all the efforts of Kildare a six point game

Game over, the ref and even the goal posts going against Kildare

Maher and Moran in complete dominance under the kickouts. Bolton suprisingly having a torrid time on O'Brien, I think he has 4 now in 25mins.

How many steps was O'Donoghue allowed there?

Pulled him down by the leg,

Kildare need to be more positive.

Alan Smith basically on his own in the full forward line and hitting long balls into him isn't going to help

Kerry are going to score between 20 and 25 points regardless off what Kildare do so really Kildare need to score 3 or 4 goals to have any chance.

Surely a 3 man full forward line with a bit of strength would be better for them than their players being isolated in the forward line.

That's how you tackle in Gaelic football

    Kerry getting the easy frees.

    Kerry's tackling has been exceptional.

Slow down the man, disrupt the hand pass away

It's all too easy.... They've had harder training games in Killarney

Kildare are competing all over the field but their forward line just lacks the quality. Compare that to the other side with Gooch, JO'D, Sheehan, Geaney etc.

Far too much lateral hand passing by Kildare, they need to be much more direct with a greater emphasis on quick foot passing to their inside line.A solitary man inside is not working.

A really depressing 35 minutes. The gap between the top 5 or so teams and the rest is huge and to be honest I don't think it will be changing for the next 3 or 4 years.

    Kildare are absolute rubbish

Kildare just don't want to shoot. They can't kick a ball into the forwards 'coz there's only 1 man up there. Ollie Lyons playing great. O Donoghue was causing problems. Super tackle by Goldrick, who took a boot to the head as well.

Game over - at this rate Sligo v Tyrone will end up being the closest result of the weekend.

The reality is that the All Ireland Football Championship effectively starts next Saturday evening. Everything up to this has been about provincial bragging rights, teams trying to survive a round or two longer than they did last year and the few top sides beating seven shades of shyte out of the rest. The elimination of Cork has been about the only thing of note to have happened so far in terms of the All Ireland race and that was more to do with the one week turnaround than anything else.

You could say the same for most sports.
Only gets really competitive at last 8 or 16

Your right but the problem is with our championship structure 80% or 90% of the matches are spent eliminating maybe 1 potential contender and we are left with a championship that consists of 3 or 4 real games which is not the case in a lot of other sports where the top teams get to meet each other at regular enough intervals and teams of equal ability play each other quite often.

There's been no major upsets this year. Cork and roscommon getting beat were slight surprises but all other games are how we expected.

The games next week are the first time any decent side will be put out.

TBH you see far more top quality games in Division 1 of the football league, wrong time of the year and the secondary competition.I must say I enjoy those games.

If we could even get to a competitive 8 that'd be some progress, 16 is a pipe dream. Which makes you wonder why there's so much fuss about changing the structure of the earlier stages of the championship - you're going to end up with the same six teams at the end anyway.

Personally I think the All Ireland Series should be just that - a series. Quarters and semis played as a best of three like a shortened version of US sports play-offs so that the top teams get a run of games playing against each other instead of wasting the summer playing virtual training matches.
