So sheldon Richardson has been in a high speed chase with police and he's been caught with a pistol, weed and a 12 year old child

He's already suspended for the first 4 games, I've a feeling he'll be missing a lot more than that now.
This does however pretty much guarante that Mo Wilkerson is going to get paid and it solves the conundrum of what Bowles was going to do with Leonard Williams.

Nothing like a deadline to get a deal done.

Not bad going for a guy who has a defense that does all the work.

Great deal for Wilson, who is barely a top 10 QB in my eyes. Seahawks window closing now that they are paying top QB $

WE'll need to see the breakdown to see what kind of deal it is. 31 mil will be spread over the life of the contract so likely little enough cap hit in year 1 and 2.

Also how guaranteed is that 86 mil? A lot of times not all that guaranteed.

60 mil guaranteed including a 31mil signing bonus.

Very nice for him as going into his final year of the new contract he will be 30 and technically in his prime so if he performs well he'll be up for another monster contract then.

You're right Adrian, Bill Barnwell on Grantland usually does a good break down of contracts, what the numbers really add up to and what it means for the cap etc, so I expect he'll have something up soon.

Manziel tearing it up at the browns practice it seems, gone 14 from 14

Galette to the Skins. One year deal on vet minimum.

Scott McCloughan doing some job transforming that Skins defense.

He also said he wanted players with strong character. So he's gone back on that one quite quickly.

True. They've done a very thorough interview and background check on him though according to reports and the fact Hall and Knighton have backed the signing from the start makes me more comfortable with it.

I've faith in McCloughan anyway. Really impressed with what he's done this off season.

Getting a player as talented as Galette on the minimum for 2015 with matching rights for 2016 is such a good deal it mitigates any big risk really too.

Yeah, getting him for the minimum is great and the fact that it's only 1 year means he has to be on his best behaviour. Hopefully there's a clause in his contract that nullifies it with no payment if he does anything stupid.

I wouldn't trust a 'thorough interview' though. We all act our best in interviews!

He did well alright for an overrated QB who'd be nowhere without his D.

In his defense, he has proven himself well on the field itself since being drafted. I would put him and Luck roughly the same over the first three years of their careers (though Luck would have the higher ceiling if you were to build a team around one or the other).

most rbs are in the league to keep the defence honest, in seattle wilson is there so other teams cant just load the box

Wilson is very good in fairness. Not in the top tier but right below it with the likes of Flacco and Ryan for me at least.

They had to pay him but the fun starts now. Wagner due and Kam holding out... a whole new test for Carroll and the gm coming.

That's an exaggeration in fairness; he had the 7th most yards per attempt, the fourth lowest interception ratio (tied with Ben, Brady) and on top of his 3,475 passing yards he had another 850 on the ground (at 7.2 yards per carry) - and a lot of that has to do with the maddening ability he has to outstretch his arm at the final second before going out of bounds, which invariably gets another 1-2 yards.

Yes, of course he has a top class running game behind him and a quality defense that allows his team to use that running game more often, in order to preserve leads. But like most quality running teams, that is what his line is built for - they have had many struggles protecting the pocket, which has quickly put Wilson close to, or even already in, the 'best when a play breaks down' discussion, along with Rodgers and Roethlisberger. Don't forget also that almost his entire WR/TE corps last season were undrafted guys, the only exceptions being Kevin Norwood (5th round rookie), Luke Willson (5th rounder, 2nd year pro) and Tony Moeaki (2010 3rd rounder who hasn't been the same player for years now, since let go to the Falcons).

Yes Wilson is extremely irritating off the field, but he is a quality QB - not one of the top guys, but up there with the likes of Luck in terms of guys who will likely be the top dogs down the road.

Speaking of Luck, how much is he going to get when he does his deal?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 805 ✭✭✭SameOleJay

He's by far and away the smartest of the new wave of read-option guys. His ability rolling from a collapsed pocket is exceptional. And when he does need to run it's never reckless. RGIII and even Cam could learn a lot from him.

If he's not in the top 2 best paid I'd be amazed tbh

Haha, that's brilliant. They forgot the 'R' :)

He didn't seem to pissed off when asked about it though:
“I didn’t even realize it,” he said with a smile. “Honestly, I don’t see the big deal. It doesn’t really matter to me. I don’t think anyone noticed. They’ll fix it by tomorrow, I’m sure. “Honestly, I’ve heard so many pronunciations and misspellings of my name, it doesn’t even phase me anymore. If they do it as a joke, I’m all about it.”

watch the interview he gave in the locker room, the fact it isnt up on the titansonline.com tells the story tbh

Boykin gone to the Steelers for a 5th round pick. Pittsburgh have got a bargain with that deal.
