    http://www.thesun.ie/irishsol/homepage/sport/6542114/Ticket-prices-revealed-for-world-title-showdown-at-Thomond.html
GOOD news for Irish boxing fans.

Tickets for the Andy Lee world title showdown with Billy Joe Saunders at Thomond Park on September 19 will begin at €30, SunSport can reveal.

The pair will come face to face tomorrow at their first pre-fight Press conference at the home of Munster Rugby.

There, ticketing information for the 34,000-capacity fight will finally be revealed almost four weeks after the showdown was announced.

A source said: “Tickets will start at €30 and the promoters are looking to attract not only boxing fans, but anyone interested in coming to a once-in-a-lifetime event.

“Limerick has never staged a world title fight before and this is the first stadium fight in Ireland for 20 years, since Steve Collins beat Chris Eubank at Pairc Ui Chaoimh.

“The promoters, Adam Booth and Frank Warren who are doing it together, feel that making tickets very affordable to punters is the only way to go and will ensure a packed house on the night.”

The Press conference will be streamed on Tuesday afternoon at thesun.ie and also by broadcasters BoxNation, with a 12.25 start.

Unbeaten Saunders, of Hatfield, is WBO champ Lee’s mandatory challenger and the fight will be the first title defence of his reign.

Lee’s previous outing, against Peter Quillin in New York in April, was a non-title bout after the American ‘Kid Chocolate’ failed to make the 160lbs middleweight limit.

Press conference tomorrow with full ticket info and pricing.

There is no pre-sale code for ticket master.

Tickets will be offered to Munster Supporters Club members first.
So you need a member with a ticket master account.

It just says prices are starting at €30 and go up to €125.

I'm not much of a boxing head but I see some tickets are €125 - €500 for ringside seats. Is there a market for that?

TicketMaster have changed their tune this morning.
€500 for ringside and €350 for on the pitch seating!

thought that would happen, what are the other prices?

I dont think ticketmester define the ticket prices tbf, more likely to be promoters

E30 for end terraces, E40 for side terraces, E60-E125 for East and West Stand, E125-E500 for pitch seating.

got 8 East terrace tickets at 40e a head plus 3.50 each for those robbing bastards at ticket master.

For anyone who doesn't know Thomond park these are good value tickets in my opinion. I have these as Munster season tickets, if you get in early you will be at the half way line and mid way back this terrace you'll have a great view of the ring.

Im not sure there will be a market in Limerick for 350 seats on the pitch or 125 for the stands whick seems to be the price point

excuse my ignorance here but I assume the ring will be covered, it is September in Ireland after all, how does that work for people up high in the stands?

Is it a see through roof? Is it normally so high that its not an issue. My old lad is looking at getting stand tickets but the reasonable ones are up in the gods, row GG, so hes wondering what his view will be like

Snap. Did the very same as you. My Munster season tickets are there as well. Was surprised that terrace tickets were available and that they were only that price. Hope we're not missing something!

125 west stand, east stand a bit cheaper and north and south stands the cheapest with them being behind the goals.

anyone have any recommendations?please...would the 60 euro stand be worse than the 40 euro terrace?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,012 ✭✭✭mitresize5

if its pissing the 350e guys in the pitch are going to get soaked

the people in the stand are going to be dry.

The east and west terrace are more or less covered by the roof of the stand so should be for the most part ok.

the north and south terrace will be soaked.

the 60e stand tickets are far worse location wise than the 40 terrace ones. the ones I was looking at were row GG, i.e. 33 rows back, in a section that would equate to the 22 metres line on the rugby pitch. These might have been the presales one but they were fairly dire

On the other hand you'll be guaranteed to be dry and have a dedicated seat for the evening.

Im still not sure what the view will be like from those seats if there is a cover over the ring though

I went with the East Terrace. Made sense, I was going to purchase the 90e tickets but realised the terrace was actually closer and probably at Ring level. I'd also rather stand!!

Got tickets in the East Stand for E60. Didn't want to risk the terrace in case the weather was bad. Looking forward to this now, should be a special night.

I went for the pitch seating ones.
    Hopefully weather will be ok.
I'm out in the rain everyday anyway so if it does so be it.

Which I could figure out the seats I got though.
They are in section BLKN whatever that means

Actually now that I think about it it probably means block N.

Were they 90? Yeah, tbh, it was more the seating that was the deciding factor than the weather really. No idea about that section tho.

Also Ticketmaster are robbers, how can they justify charging so much for a simple transaction.
