They had to fly Louis Copeland in from Dublin to put Conor's suit on... that's what took him so long :)

Knew he'd be in that suit. No wonder he was late, looking in every mirror on the way in :D

Sounds similar to an issue I've been having in Chrome lately, so maybe try switching browser.

His comment about how he handles the media before a fight like this :D

'I'll never do it again, but then I get the cheque...'

I'm not a fan of McGregor but credit where credit is due. He came back to win like a champion does, (like lawlor did) he needs to work on his mat skills but that escape from the guillotine rolling like a crocodile was beautiful and earned him the win. Respect.

were you watching that Lawler / MacDonald fight? :pac:

    Yes I was.

I was quite obviously referring to the people that said there was something fishy about McGregor/Mendes.

I've never seen McGregor look so tired after a fight. He was absolutely drained.

Also for the people moaning about the stoppage, Mendes didn't !! Not when Herb Dean stopped it and not after in the interview. That says enough really.

Yea, once Chad & Herb were certain the money had hit their accounts they were never going to moan.

So happy right now. It was such a 50/50 fight imo, very hard to bet on. But Conor got it done, he answered the wrestler question in spectacular fasion. Aldo v Conor is going to be huge.

Side note the card was great. 2 flying knee KO's and Matt Brown winning made it great as I'm a fan of the guy.

Watched it back a few times......apart from having his eye cut open I don't reckon he was ever in real trouble all the time he was on his back, how long that could have lasted is another thing.........but how long could Mendes have taken those body and head shots? not as long obviously

I admit I know Sweet FA about UFC but as I see it CM has a problem going forward and that is going to be his constant struggle to make the weight in this division.

If he beats Aldo then he is obviously the undisputed Champion and lets say that happens. However he is a freakish size in this division so logically he is gonna have to move up to lightweight where he could be on the small side. (please correct me if I am wrong here) I asked the question if he would dominate at LW and it seems the general concensus is that he would struggle.

So he seems to be caught between the devil and the deep blue sea to coin a phrase, because if he doesn't do the business against Aldo he will be ripped apart by the haters. If he does the same folk will say he only dominated because of his size, which realistically he cannot maintain, and therefore if he fails at lightweight he will also be ripped apart by the same haters, what has the guy got to do to get the acclaim he deserves?

I noticed even before the fight with Mendes his fellow Professionals were writing him off too, what gives??

He has never once missed weight at 145lb. It's tough but there's not to suggest it's a "struggle"

Just watched the fight fair play to him to get up after all that and still have the energy to throw a know out punch.

I'm new to this sport but what gets to me is the whole weight cutting crack. I mean it looked like man against boy in that fight. If Conor is fighting at his proper weight he'd be fighting against lads much bigger than him.

It seems in the ufc if you weren't to to cut, turned up a your natural weight, you'll be fighting against a much bigger guy.

I think if Conor was fighting a wrestling at his own weight, it wouldn't go well.

    Nearly everyone cuts weight though.
These bigger guys he'd be fighting are also cutting weight.
If they turned up at their natural weight too, then he wouldn't be fighting them. He'd be fighting the same guys.
