Got a RGB modded jap n64 from kerbdog. The N64 has the remarkable ability to make even RGB seem rubbish and blurry but it's a huge step up from composite.

Can anybody recommend a good place to get SNES box protectors? For PAL and NTSC carts and boxes.

Also, just when you think you've seen all sorts of mad auctions........http://www.ebay.com/itm/Refrigerator-full-of-Super-Nintendo-Jurassic-Park-games-/191586916547?nma=true&si=qwFe8RJNZw%252F2Emq%252Bg6BuHOglx7o%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

And yet no one went for the obvious "There, I always told you Retro games are cool" statement, somehow I am disappointed in you all. :(

Just another quick question. How well do the NES-FC converters work? Might as well hit 2 birds with one stone if I do buy it, ha.

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 53,283 CMod ✭✭✭✭Retr0gamer

Mine works perfectly except with Castlevania 3. I think a few other games will have trouble as well, usually MMC4 and MMC5 games (although I think it's only limited to MMC4 games). However there is a very simple mod that lets these games work (or you can buy the famicom version of Vania 3 for the better music). However you can get ones that are properly wired that work with everything, the cheap converters like mine don't wire or else wire unused pins incurrently that are only really used for later expansion chips.

Still it's far better than a normal NES where games work 1% of the time.

Just do a bit of research unlike I did and get the a decent converter.

Looks like a Spica converter is the one to go for:

Man, Space Manbow has an absolutely banging soundtrack:

The quality of the soundtrack makes more sense now, the girl that did the Symphony of the Night soundtrack is one of the composers.

I finally decided to redeem some club nintendo cards in order to get some software downloads from the club nintendo store. I knew a lot of the cards I had would be expired but as I was leafing through my games, I scratched off codes for Mario Kart 7 and Professor Layton and the Spectre's Call only to see that they expired on 25th May 2015... That was at f**king 00:08 this morning.

I suppose it'll still work with US locked consoles over here? Might be worth checking out?

Humble Nindie Bundle presented by Nintendo eShop.

The Humble Nindie Bundle is region-locked and can only be redeemed on North, Central, and South American Wii U and 3DS consoles (with the exception of Brazil). See full list of countries here.

Nintendo are taking the piss out of me at this stage. I redeemed a download code for the nes legend of zelda last night for 1300 stars. They reshuffled their star prices this morning and now it's only 780.
